3)EM. To everybody. It took a while for the damage to manifest, but now it's here. I'm so proud of the beginnings of EM. The goal was to improve care to critically ill and trauma patients by aggressive intervention. And we did, we improved survival rates. Now we are going
4)backwards. We relinquished our expertise to those with less to no training--nary a thought about the patients and how they would be affected. And we did this to please the businesspeople and shareholders. And we permitted this beautiful specialty to become a business. Those
5)businesses then trained our future EM docs and created an excess. It is now left to the new generation of EPs, those who have been trained well, to clean up the s**t those from my generation and before did to EM. We made the biggest mistake ever when we took our specialty for
6)granted. Because we forgot our history and why we became a specialty in the first place. To provide acute care intervention and management so the public would have the best chance at survival and quality of life. Now we treat them like cattle and EPs have become a commodity.😌
