I understand seeing Black Americans as like, the Carlton Banks of the diaspora. HOWEVER, I hear so much, especially over the last year or so, about all these things we apparently collectively do and think about Black ppl outside the US and I'm like "Who said that?"
Admittedly, the speed and volume at which some folk are running with the ADOS and B1 shit isn't helpful, but it's also FARRRRR from a majority.
Black Americans, like any people, have shared experiences and touch points but also vary widely from generation to generation and region to region (which can be a STARK difference here)
Re: what Black people outside of the US hear/see from AA online, last night I pointed out to someone that: 1. The majority of US twitter users are 18-29 2. 80% of tweets come from 10% of users.
You may hear the loudest, but not a full representation of us by any means.

My heart breaks for Sha'Carrie, and it was a human mistake, especially all things considered. Olympic level competition unfortunately requires setting aside all kinds of shit we mere mortals do. If the IOC had let her compete they'd have been setting a precedent they can't uphold
The International Olympic Committee is trash on plenty of levels, but this was pretty cut and dry. Weed's not performance enhancing, but it masks other drugs and minimizes muscle and body pain. It's a tough ass lesson to learn, though.
I'm looking at Sha'Carrie's coach and the training team around her, because she should have been prepared, while training for trials, to shift her mindset. And to KNOW they were gonna test her every chance they got. To me, it's a failure on *their* part
And this was the first day I started suspecting she might be pregnant. Miss Tina's mentioned in throwback posts that Bey was sick through alot of the 4 promo. She had a cpl more things on schedule once we ended the live feed. The Parkwood team told us we needed to cut the rest...
... because she was tired.
Me: "TIRED? Beyoncé's not going to do something because she's tired? Nope. That's not the answer." I knew it had to be something she couldn't push through. Because she don't stop.
... AND it was the last promo push to get first week sales? I was like
Somebody - who was on Keith's side - said folks were counting him out because he "doesn't have any No. 1s"
... Keith has No. 1s on every single R&B chart. He has 7 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Chart, and 5 Top 10s on the Hot 100. And has never stopped selling tickets. Ever.
If ever you're about to use crossover hits as a barometer, just remember that the average white person has no idea what a Frankie Beverly & Maze is and never heard "Before I Let Go" until Beyonce did her version.
"Everybody wanna know what's going down. Not with the James, not the Jim, but the Bobby Brown. I'm chilling much harder as you all know.
Cause Bobby Brown is
good to
good to
good to go
solo"
Now I'm on the mic and I'm rockin' real fresher. Everybody out there don't talk mess about me. Cause I'm rockin' really steady, and when I'm on the mic you know that they call me Freddy cause I'm ready... to really get paid, and if anybody steps in my way they gettin' slayed.
