George Galloway now free to stand if any future Poplar & Limehouse by-election
Bethnal Green & Bow GE 2005 he got 36% wins
Poplar & Limehouse GE 2010 17% loses
Bradford West 2012 by-election 56% wins
He got 22% yesterday in Batley & Spen

We won't know for months whether or not there will be a by-election here but he may fancy his chances here
But what if next year we have the following elections:
Lutfur Rahman running for Mayor
George Galloway running for MP
What if they work together?

The result may depend on the quality of Labour candidates
Kim Leadbetter 2021 & Jim Fitzpatrick 2010 could beat Galloway
John Biggs failed against Lutfur in 2014 but is now better known but in my view not guaranteed to beat Lutfur in 2022

But will also depend on who else runs (no Greens in Batley yesterday!)
I do not think John and Labour have done enough to prove why they should be re-elected especially on the Isle of Dogs
There have been too many problems & poor delivery on a range of issues (will do list)

But as the largest party + First Past the Post they may win anyway
Ironically in Tower Hamlets, we have the same problem as the nation in reverse
Nationally Conservatives dominant as the largest party & opposition split
TH Labour dominant as largest party & opposition split

But as voters you have an opportunity now to exploit the situation to try and get the candidates to commit to doing things that will benefit you or your concerns (fire safety for example)
Also, you should be seeing your local Cllrs standing again being more active now!
