National cabinet agreed on a plan to get us out of Covid town.
Main points: Passenger caps reduced by 50%, repatriation flights to get Aussies home and they’ll trial home quarantine for the vaccinated.

So where the hell is the plan? Like ALL good plans - it’s a FOUR step plan bestie.
1.Where we are now - keep vaccinating, reduce return travellers and use lockdowns as a last resort.

2.Traveller caps return to 100% for unvaxxed peeps - bigger caps for those who have been vaxxed, a vaccine booster program will be introduced and lockdowns only in EXTREME circumstances. EXTREME is a word which should always be written in caps.

Got all of that so far? Good.
Ok phase three:
NO lockdowns! Woooooop! Vaccinated Aussies will be exempt from restrictions and free to travel to places like Singapore. We should see more international students back and no cap on returning vaccinated travellers.

Hit me with the last step sis! - you got it - phase 4!
You got a vaccination? You got free travel in and out of the country! Not free money wise but you can come and go. You’re not vaccinated? Ok, you will have to test before you go and when you come home.

Where the states at?
Queensland - three local cases. One is the partner of the Qatar check-in worker and they believe he is the initial case because he’s a baggage handler and probably picked it up from airline crew.

The other two are a mother and daughter - problem is they’ve been out and about quite a bit- that means lockdown will end for 10 locations including Noosa, Gold Coast and Townsville BUT Brisbane and Moreton Bay will remain locked down for an extra 24hrs. I love Moreton Bay bugs.

You heard about some drama? Late this arvo there was a positive test on the Sunny Coast. A man in his 50s. Their CHO said the man was infectious for a few days in the community - but they’re still ok to ease lockdown.

You heard one of the states had a lot of sore noses? That was NSW - 73k tests in 24 hours.
31 local cases today - 13 were active in the community. 11 were in iso for their entire infectious period. 3 partially isolated during their infectious period

Their Premier says they’re seeing the last of the cases coming in from before lockdown. They expect a small rise in cases before it drops off.

And those South Australians what are they up to? One new case -another child of the mining family who are positive and isolating. #Phew!

And the NT?
They came out of lockdown at 1pm. WOOP! Masks stay on.

What up WA?
One new case and their lockdown ends at midnight!

Also - I rang Tassy over and over - their number was engaged. They sent a text but all it said was - ‘busy livin’ 😎
