Ok NSW…let’s go.
16 new cases - 14 of them linked to known cases. Phew! 13 of them were in full iso, 1 in partial isolation during their infectious period.
Of the new cases three are from the Summit Care residential aged care facility in Baulkham Hills. 👵🏼 👴🏻 👴🏻 ⬅️ they’ve been taken to hospital as a precaution. They were all vaccinated - the rest of the residents remain in lockdown. Workers here tested positive earlier in the week.
There’s a small worry about some poop water at St Marys sewage treatment plant as there are no known cases in that area.
There’s also an alert for VA524 Gold Coast to Sydney on Saturday 26 June - multiple people have tested positive since travelling on this flight.
Helloooo Sunshine state - QLD
One new community case *this morning* - they were a close contact from the Greek community centre and went into iso on July 2. That was one of the locations the mum and daughter from the other day had been to.
BUT! They’re alpha strains which is good news for us but bad news for them -because they still have COVID. But you get me. It ain’t delta.
Late today a ‘person of interest’ also turned positive.
West walkers!
One new case - don’t freak out - it’s the partner of a previous case. He’s been in quarantine since June 26 and became symptomatic on July 1. They’re going to lift their interim restrictions as long as all new cases are already in iso.
They’ve also copped some heat for having the highest vaccine wastage rate (22%). They’ve said that’s because their state is so large they have small stocks everywhere and that contributes to their waste levels.
Bestie - I’m also starting a new club it’s called the ‘no new cases club’. Tassie said they’re in charge of it everyone wants to join. SA and the ACT have their memberships.
The NT is also on the list at the door but here’s a bit more on them:
26 of 37 close contacts of the case who spent a full day at Alice Springs Airport last week are negative.
💩 💦 testing results have come back negative in Alice Springs and Greater Darwin
A 22 year old woman there is facing a fine there for spitting on someone after being asked to wear a mask.
And apart from all that drama - They’re feeling confident that their outbreak is under control.
Vic - we are sipping a vodka soda trying to be inconspicuous at the back of the club and absolutely loving no new cases club for the fourth day.
270 houses were visited yesterday to make sure people were complying with iso- two are pending referral to Victoria Police.
The world-famous Australian beer Fosters Lager was originally produced in Melbourne by two American brothers, William M. and Ralph R. Foster in 1886. They came here from New York.

It’s Saturday night let’s get SNAPPY! Sydney siders. 35 cases, 9 in the community,3 partially isolated. Of those numbers-they’re focussed on the number 9-they want the number infectious people in the community to continue to drop. Keep ya Bondi buns indoors!
Queenslanderrrrrs! 5 new cases today.
Lockdown for Brissy & Moreton Bay ended at 6pm. New exposure sites on the Sunshine Coast after that case popped up yesterday arvo. One of the new cases is a woman in her 50s who worked a shift while infectious at the Prince Charles Hospital.
What’s happening in the ACT? Zero.
Zero cases today - zero active cases.
And the NT? No new cases for the second day. The mine outbreak sits at 17 and lockdowns have lifted in Darwin and Alice Springs.
Strap yourselves in!
National cabinet agreed on a plan to get us out of Covid town.
Main points: Passenger caps reduced by 50%, repatriation flights to get Aussies home and they’ll trial home quarantine for the vaccinated.
So where the hell is the plan? Like ALL good plans - it’s a FOUR step plan bestie.
1.Where we are now - keep vaccinating, reduce return travellers and use lockdowns as a last resort.
2.Traveller caps return to 100% for unvaxxed peeps - bigger caps for those who have been vaxxed, a vaccine booster program will be introduced and lockdowns only in EXTREME circumstances. EXTREME is a word which should always be written in caps.
Kicking it off with NSW. 24 new cases. Half were in iso - the others were in the community - seven are unlinked.
Late this arvo they announced a positive case had been to the Sydney Olympic Park vaccination site on June 29.
Remember the West Hoxton shindig?
Infections from that party now sit at 41. They’ve had 202 delta cases all up so far.
Queensland is heating up and I’m not talking about the weather sis.
Two new cases there -one is a close contact of the Portuguese restaurant outbreak, the other is a Qatar Airways check-in staff member who tested soon after developing symptoms. They have five clusters all up.
Ok, the new case today is linked to the Southbank cluster. They’ve been in iso. We are safe on that front. That cluster has 12 people in it. Two of them are now negative. 10 still active.
Now to the Sandringham cluster. The original case (man who went to daughters birthday in NSW) all of his neighbours in the Oakleigh apartment complex have been tested. 49 negatives so far.
What about the flight he came on you ask? I got you. 134 close contacts identified from JQ523 - 121 negative so far.
I thought we were done with this but - here we go - who wants facts?
The man in his 60s attended a party at his daughters Hoxton West house in NSW on Saturday night.
He flew to Melbourne on a Jetstar flight JQ523 that departed Sydney 5:30pm on Sunday. The flight landed at Melbourne Airport Tullamarine at 7.05pm at Terminal 4. We don’t yet have confirmation on how many people were on that flight.
Rosa Rossi-this is one of the most unbelievable stories I’ve ever covered in court. Stay with me. Rossi was a SGT of Victoria Police. She used the LEAP database to find properties that were vacant around Melbourne. @7NewsMelbourne
Rossi then hired locksmiths and tricked them into believing she was the true owner of those houses - and had them change all the locks. @7NewsMelbourne
She then advertised the properties on gumtree and met potential tenants to show them through the houses, then she signed them up. There were five all up.
