I completed my 55th trip around the sun a few days ago.

No regrets. None.

This is how I got to a place

full of adventure,
full of life,
full of love
and filled with gratitude

With all my heart, I wish the same for you.

When you tell someone you love them,

Mean it.
Learn to be alone.

Alone doesn’t equal lonely.
Reward toxic people in your life,

With distance.
The government won’t save you.

There aren’t enough stimulus checks to dig you out of your bad habits.
It’s ok to cry.

Sometimes tears are words we can’t write,

Buried deep in your heart.
Sit with your grandparents and ask about their life.

Get their story.

On video if possible.

Trust me on this.
You'll fail.
A lot.

Fail fast.

You’ll see success quicker.
Take responsibility for your life.

You're the cause and the solution.

There is no difference between someone who doesn’t read,

And someone who can’t read.
Build something.
Start that business.
Write that book.

Stop talking about it.
Take one miracle shot a day.

At the end of a year that’s 365 shots on goal.

Eventually, one of those shots gets in the net.
Journal daily.

Writing your thoughts is like bathing in healing waters.
Buy at least one expensive piece of art.

Art makes you think.
Art makes you feel something.
Art says things words can’t say.
Eat real food.

Real food = no packaging and no barcode.
Study the Circadian Rhythm.

Sleep better.
Live better.
Be insanely curious.

“I am neither clever or especially gifted. I am only very, very curious.” Albert Einstein
Once a year, do something that scares the shit out of you.

From now until forever.
Don’t be an ass.

How you make others feel about themselves says everything about you.
Before you die, read Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl -

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
Travel.

A lot.

Make a list of 10 dream destinations.

Pick one.

Put it on the calendar for no further than 12 months out.

Put down a deposit.

Ask to make it non-refundable.

Your brain will figure the rest out.

Always have a trip on the calendar.
Always buy anything kids are selling on card tables in their front yards.

Ask, “What’s the most anyone's bought today?”

“Five??? I’ll take ten.”
The commandment “Love your neighbor”,

Wasn’t a suggestion.
Learn to drive a stick shift.

Race car drivers don’t drive automatic.

Soccer moms drives automatic.

Plus girls think it’s hot.
There is zero reason you can’t start investing right now.

$5 a month is the entry drug to a full stock portfolio and fully funded Roth IRA’s.
If bad things always seem to happen to you or if the world is out to get you,

It’s most likely you.
Eminem said it best,

“I don't care if you're black, white, straight, bisexual, gay, lesbian, short, tall, fat, skinny, rich or poor. If you're nice to me, i'll be nice to you. Simple as that!”
Leave your phone in the car,

When visiting your parents,

Or when on a date.
Listen to understand,

Not to give your opinion.
Getting enough sleep,

Is THE most underrated health hack.
Cheating on your wife or your girlfriend wasn’t an accident.

You’re just selfish.
If someone cheats on you,

Leave.
People will disappoint you.

Forgive the important ones.
Whatever you end up doing, do your absolute best.

Do you want to sing?
Sing like a motherfucker.

Write?
Write like a motherfucker.

Lead?
Lead like a motherfucker.
If you’re angry at someone you care about, write them a letter.

Put it in a drawer for 10 days.

Then either burn it or send it.
You can be a completely different person in 90 days.

Smarter.
Leaner.
More kind.

Just decide.
Be kind.
Be empathetic.
Be patient.

Most people are doing the best they can.
Don't hate.

You don’t have time for it.
The cringiest response in the world to me is “I can’t”.

Yes. You can.

If I were to pay you $100,000 to figure it out, by the end of the day, could you do it?

Yes. Of course.

So figure it out.
Be intentional.

Don’t leave your life to chance.
Silence is sometimes the loudest response.
We live in a world filled with distractions.

Success rewards focus.
Learn from your past,

But don't live in your past.
How you treat the janitor or the waiter,

Tells me everything I need to know about you.
What you focus on expands.

Happiness.
Sadness.
Opportunity.
Courage.

Choose wisely.
Taking action changes everything.

“You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do.” -CG Jung
Be fearless.

Even when you’re not.
If they’re really concerned about you, they’ll be there.

If they’re not there, they weren’t really that concerned.
Stop expecting people to be perfect.

People will disappoint you.

Love them anyway.
Question everything.

Question your faith.
Question your political views.
Question your motives.

Most of the time we only see what we want to see.
Don’t die without watching The Breakfast Club.

• never judge a book by its cover
• don’t be ashamed of who you are
You either learn to be healthy,

Or buy good health insurance.
You’re never too old to invest.

First in yourself,

And then in your future.
You can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat their parents.

Respect.
Kindness.
Compassion.

Irritated.
Annoyed.
Impatient.
Not everyone will like you.

That says more about them than about you.
Setting boundaries is ok.

But honor them.
10 seconds of insane courage will change your life.

Talk to the girl.
Get the tattoo.
Walk away.
Ask for help.
In conclusion, I’d like to leave you with this.

Don’t half ass life.
Give it all you’ve got.
No regrets.

None.

When we sold everything to move to Guatemala,

A country that has 100 murders a week,

Our friends thought we were crazy & our family threatened to cut us off .

// tiny thread // Image
10 years later, some of them are still shaking their head, waiting for us to fold up and come back home.

We're still here, living in one of the most beautiful corners of the planet, serving the poor.

Thriving.
What are you putting off?
What are you doing that people would call you crazy for?

What do you really have to lose?

How we got out $45,000 of debt in one year.

It wasn’t sexy.

(thread)
You have to want it.

We were tired of not having enough money at the end of the month. Exhausted really.

We owned two small businesses and we were grossing $90,000 a year!

If we lost even one of our clients, we would have been in real trouble.
Have a strong driving reason to get out of debt this way.

• we wanted to give more
• we wanted to make the world a better place

We couldn't do that in debt.

If I Die

If I die, I want you to know..."

I love you.

I always have.
I would do anything for you.
I would gladly give you my heart.

23 Secrets To A Happy Marriage

If Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates couldn't make it work, what hope is there? (thread)
My wife and I have been married 23 years today. I have to wonder if this list would have helped.

8 Steps on How To Look Back At Your Life And Say, ‘Holy Crap! I kicked ass!’

(thread)
1. List 4 things you ABSOLUTELY have to do before you die. It doesn’t have to be extreme. Jump out of an airplane? Kayak down the Colorado River? Get a tattoo?
2. If you could do only one, which would it be? Personally, I’d go big. I’d go with the one that scares the crap out of me. Base jumping / swim with sharks = Pretty damn scary.
