Status hearing for Oath Keepers case. Judge Mehta presiding. 13 defendants. Thomas Caldwell asking for change of venue out of D.C.
Caldwell motion: "The Government’s initial charging documents contained multiple misleading, inaccurate, and false statements regarding Caldwell which, having saturated the District’s news media, have irreversibly prejudiced the District’s jury pool."
The motion repeatedly blasts Michael Sherwin, the first prosecutor on the case. "The 60 Minutes interview given by the former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia was beyond reckless." Sherwin bragged his office arrested 100+ people before January 20 to stop people from...
coming to DC to protest Biden's inauguration. Caldwell was in that first batch. "District residents have been bombarded with wall-to-wall coverage of the January 6th events, related arrests, criminal charges, and the aforementioned false and incendiary Government claims."
This entire motion is delicious. "Caldwell cannot receive a fair trial in the District because he is the victim of D.C.-
based systemic race-baiting. The President, Attorney General, Speaker of the House, prominent politicians, and media personalities have engaged in...
the most shameful race baiting regarding Caldwell and other defendants. They have repeated false claims that
Caldwell and others are “white supremacists,” “white nationalists,” and “racists.”
"Caldwell, a retired Lt. Commander and intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy who held a top-secret clearance, hardly qualifies as a hillbilly or white trash. Other co defendants...were successful small business owners, a car dealership owner, and an MBA graduate." LOL
Prosecutor explaining DOJ still gathering video evidence against defendants--arrest first, build case later.
DOJ making it very difficult for defense lawyers to access video evidence, still not on an shareable database. Sounds like public defenders need to find their own vendor (?) to then download government's large trove of video evidence. Maybe by the fall? "Large amount of data."

My March piece on arrest of Christopher Worrell. He’s been behind bars—transported to Deplorable Jail in DC—for almost 4 months awaiting trial. He’s also very ill
Mehta asking DOJ about progress on 3 Oath Keepers who have been held for months awaiting trial. Watkins, Meggs, Harrelson. Doesn't sound like plea negotiations underway, no trial date set.
Listening to detention hearing for Jacob Chansley, the so-called organic shaman. He's been in jail since his arrest in January. Judge Lamberth in March denied his release....he's the judge now presiding. Chansley is not charged with a violent crime.
Lamberth in March: "Were defendant released pending trial, he would have the opportunity to again attempt to disrupt the United States government or harm member of Congress." With what, his horns?
His attorney now discussing this video we posted at American Greatness showing USCP giving Chansley instructions on how to protest inside the building
I want to repost @JMichaelWaller account of what he saw on January 6.
"I...noticed a small number of Capitol Police dressed in full riot gear, with shin guards and shoulder guards. One carried a black baton with side handle."
"A contingent of...30 to 50 Capitol Police emerged at the top of the inaugural platform. It was after 1:17 p.m. They were armed with paintball-type long guns that fired capsules of pepper irritant, teargas launchers, and long guns that I could not identify from my position."
"Some sighted their pepper ball weapons toward the densely packed people. One fired a teargas canister—not at the plainclothes militants at the front line, but into the crowd itself. Then another. Flash grenades went off in the middle of the crowd."
Here's what Jensen's solid "lawyer" said in a filing: "A billionaire reality TV show host turned president becoming the savior to a disillusioned/pandemic-weary, largely blue-collar working-class middle America. The internet, with its lightning speed spawned yet an even more...
bizarre offshoot, QANON - described as an American far-right conspiracy theory alleging that a cabal of Satanic, cannibalistic pedophiles run a global child sex trafficking ring and conspired against former President Trump." No wonder why he wanted to keep his client in jail.
