You can watch the fireworks anywhere along the Lakefront except Adler. Chicago police are turning people and telling them to go by Shedd.
Now police are removing people from lakefront path near Shedd saying they can watch the display next to Shedd.
Folks are getting really ticked off.
Cyclists who have no interest in watching fireworks are being turned around and being told to go around Shedd to get back on the trail.
When asked why are they closing off the public way to the public an the officer manning this barricade said "we were told to close this off"
Now they are taping off this section with crimescene tape.
To clarify there isn't a crimescene, they are blocking it off so people don't walk around the barricade.
Some are asking about if this is related to blocking it off for VIPs they aren't allowing anyone to view it from these locations I'm mentioned. All I'm seeing in these sections are other cops doing foot patrols and hanging out.
Cop at the barricade is now telling people that they won't be seeing the fireworks from here and to go towards the city to see it. Saying Navy Pier isn't doing thr fireworks this year.
"You guys are about to be real disappointed you won't see it"
To clarify the cop didn't say the fireworks weren't happening but that they won't be fired from Navy Pier, from our reporting at the @Suntimes its mentioned that fireworks will be fired from multiple locations along the lakefront. chicago.suntimes.com/2021/7/2/22561…
I've relocated but but there's a ton of people still facing Navy Pier. Cops by the old spot are afraid of people rushing the barricade once they realize fireworks are firing off behind them.
Soldier Field fireworks are going off currently.
The worst part of my new spot is I'm getting dive bombed from time to time by a huge swarm of bugs.
Hopefully I'm wrong but I habe a feeling people are going to be really really disappointed by the show this year.
Well I'm glad I was wrong, was a pretty decent show. And the officers over by Shedd were right, if uoi were over there you might not have had the best experience.
Now for the fun part of getting to my vehicle though a crowd of people that were let out of a Chicago Fire game ans the fireworks show.

For those looking to photograph Fireworks tonight follow these easy steps and you should get pretty good results (the steps mentioned will apply to consumer grade to professional DSLR's and Mirrorless cameras with manual settings). #FourthofJuly
First you will need the following.
- A DSLR or Mirrorless Camera capable of manual controls.
- A Tripod
- A cable release, or a wireless cable release, or app control of the camera using your phone.
Next get into location and set up your camera on the tripod and frame your image. I would recommend getting to the location as early as possible to get the best spot to frame your photos, and so you have a little light left to compose your images.
June as a month in Chicago had it's highest highs and it's lowest lows, but one thing that can be said about June was that for better or worse things are returning to normal in Chicago. #Chicago
