1/ Since Donald Trump left the White House on Jan. 20, @BusinessInsider has been tracking the diaspora of his top lieutenants and aides. Today, we released a searchable database of where they've all landed. businessinsider.com/trump-white-ho…
2/ It's not easy out there for some Trump alumni. Many corporations won't employ alumni of Trump's White House, so they're building a 'dumb cash' MAGA ecosystem instead, report @cryanbarber and @tomlobianco businessinsider.com/trump-alumni-m…
3/ Other Trump alumni — Cabinet members, in particular — are living their best lives in the months since they left the MAGA fold, report @rbravender and @leonardkl businessinsider.com/trump-cabinet-…

6/ This @BusinessInsider project lands at a pivotal time for Trump, both on the legal and political fronts.

7/ Meanwhile, on the political front, Trump remains firmly atop the Republican Party leadership pyramid. BUT: there are plenty of others in the GOP who are either waiting for him to stumble — or who'd even like to take him down. businessinsider.com/2024-candidate…
8/ At this moment, the Republican Party's most intriguing Trump 2.0 figure is Florida Gov. @RonDeSantisFL, who's making not-so-quiet moves to position himself for a 2024 presidential run — if the opportunity to do so presents itself. businessinsider.com/powerful-peopl…

1/ A Trump fundraising triple bait-and-switch, unpacked.

This morning, Trump’s campaign sent this text message. It would appear, in a plain reading of it, that any money you donate would go toward ongoing efforts to overturn Election 2020 results.
2/ But click on the Trump fundraising text link, & you get nothing about the presidential election. Instead, you get a solicitation for the “GEORGIA ELECTION FUND,” referring, of course, to the two runoffs in Georgia that will determine the Senate’s balance of power in 2021-2022.
3/ OK, so you’re helping elect Republican senators in Georgia and preserving a Senate majority, not helping Trump fight. Tomato, tomahto.

One problem: Your donation isn’t going to the Georgia runoff.

It’s mostly going to a new Trump political committee called “Save America.”

Not long ago such political fundraising would’ve been considered churlish. We’re far past that, though. ImageImage

1/ Investigative journalism is slow. It's tedious. There's no guarantee your efforts will ever pay off.

But sometimes, they do—big time. Three years ago, @sarahkleiner9 of @publicintegrity began investigating telemarketer Mark Gelvan. This happened today. publicintegrity.org/politics/veter…
2/ For months, @sarahkleiner9 contacted dozens of people, read thousands of documents and drove up and down the Eastern seaboard to piece this puzzle together. Few reporters I've worked with have ever worked so hard. Let Sarah herself tell you more:
3/ This piece, about a scam veterans charity that used the telemarketing firm in question, was part of @sarahkleiner9's investigation. It illustrates the human effects of huge amounts of money being siphoned away from needy veterans. publicintegrity.org/politics/veter…
