When Piyush Goyal took charge of coal, power and renewable energy, the new minister of state knew what he was signing up for. The very volatile ministry was infamous for not getting anything done. In the UPA era it was divided between three cabinet ministers.
The ministry was a complete mess with a 1. 8 lakh crore scam, stranded thermal power plants, Fuel shortages and mounting debt of state utilities.
When NDA came to power, the situation of 100 power plants monitored was so bad that as many as 38 were left with only a week’s worth of coal to burn, while 20 had as little as four or less days of coal stocks.
That’s what Piyush Goyal inherited.
When he handed over the keys of the ministry to his successor RK Singh, the process of electrifying every village had been completed. Under his leadership, coal allocation through the e-auction method was working seamlessly and power generation had grown to record highs.
He was then given the charge of Rail Ministry. The much sought after ministry used to be the exclusive privilege of the biggest alliance partners of both the UPA and the NDA. Party supremos like Nitish, Paswan, Lalu and Mamata have all been Railway Ministers.
Under his predecessor Suresh Prabhu, Railway had gotten rid of this malaise and a lot of groundwork was already laid.
However, train accidents were alarmingly high, and Railway was suffering from a huge PR and credibility problem. This was when PM Modi turned to Piyush Goyal.
Today Trains are more punctual than ever. Unmanned crossings are history. From accidents amounting to as high as 1130 in 1980-81, the number of train accidents fell to 59 in 2018-19, a reduction of more than 94.8 percent.
Cleanliness in trains is now a stuff of legends. Train toilets that remained nothing more than a hole in the floor for 67 years transformed into well-equipped lavatories under his leadership.
And now he has got the charge of Textile Ministry. India has been very well known for its textile products since ancient times. The traditional textile industry of India was destroyed by the British to fuel the English mills.
The modern textile industry breathed its first only in the nineteenth century, but India could never become the Textile Powerhouse that it used to be.
India is the leading cotton producing country in the world. India was the largest producer of jute products till 2019. Bangladesh beat India the next year. Today Bangladesh is a textile powerhouse and India isn’t.
Textile industry remains one of the largest industries and one of the biggest employment providers in India, but its full potential has never been realized. And now PM Modi has turned to his ‘rainmaker’ Piyush Goyal again.
Piyush Goyal is an extremely disciplined man with terrific organizational skills. He is the one to get the job done. And his CEO like working style closely resembles PM Modi’s own working style. Expect the Textile industry of India to make rave headlines in the next 6 months.
What is being seen as a demotion for Piyush Goyal is in fact PM Modi turning to his best minister to nurse an ailing industry back to health. And if Goyal’s records are to be taken into consideration, it is an exceptionally well made call on the Prime Minister’s Part.
And like I told you yesterday, it’s not a demotion, it’s PM Modi turning to his best minister to turn an industry around. The stock market agrees with Goyal’s talent, PM Modi’s trust and my analysis 😇

Nirmala Sitharaman should have been sacked because Dahisar economists and Uttam Nagar finance analysts say so.
The fact that she steered the country through its toughest times with few cuts and bruises is, of course, not a fashionable thing to say.
Another theory that I read from post 2014 political analysts on Twitter.
Piyush Goyal has been demoted.
PG, NirmalaS and DharmendraP are 3 absolute favourites of PM Modi. Among these 3 PG has the best organisational skills. He showed that as powerMin and then RailMin.

Now the portfolios he handles are closely intertwined. Textile, Commerce and Consumer affairs. Textile has terrific opportunities that Smriti Irani failed to capitalise upon. “Piyush Goyal with all his experience can totally turn it around.
This is a SS from the comment section of an article about Netflix series Designated survivor. You can see that Americans are nearly as fed up of their entertainment industry as we are of ours.
भांड - performer. A colloquial word for entertainers. From Vedic sabhas to Roman amphitheatres, they have been around throughout the human civilisation.
They remained constantly on the move, were taxed heavily and they weren’t political. Their job was only to entertain.
Imagine an entertainer lecturing an emperor over economic policy or that army shouldn’t attack or that police shouldn’t exist. Their heads would have been dutifully placed under the feet of elephants to be cracked open like coconuts.
Fall of Rome and the imminent fall of modern west: Wokeism and other things - A thread
Once upon a time, the Roman Empire was one of the mightiest empires on earth. It commanded an army so huge that there were very few parallels to it. Yet it fell. The fall of the Roman Empire is a highly debated topic in the academic circles.
But most agree on four basic reasons:
•Decay owing to general malaise
•Monocausal decay
•Catastrophic collapse
•Transformation
To connect the fall of the Roman Empire to the imminent fall of the modern west, I’ll use a mix of all 4 schools of thought.
We never like playing the told you so game. But here, see what we said 2 years back. We will soon hit you with a parallel and a more shocking development.
Those who know me know that I don’t deal in conspiracy theories so here’s another big forecast: Samajwadi Party is ready with a grand plan to snatch upper class votes from the BJP. And it will be done with “your” help. By you, I mean the gullible lot.
Watch out for RW warriors “created” in the last 2-3 years. They’ll come across as the most vocal supporters of Hindutva. They will keep telling you how BJP cheated Hindus. They will be the front line warriors for Samajwadi party this election and they wouldn’t directly praise SP.
So many things have happened in the past few months. From successfully controlling the first wave of coronavirus to a disastrous second wave, from almost winning West Bengal to post poll violence in Bengal after TMC’s thumping win, from being Israel’s BFF to appeasing Palestine.
Twitter is labelling anti-Congress news as fake, influencers world over calling the B.1.617 variant, Indian variant, shameful coverage of India’s Covid deaths in western media. Oxygen shortage, medicine shortage, ventilator shortage and faint chances of a big economic bounce-back
In the last firm, I was offered to go and work onsite (AMERICA), it was a delicious proposition, I had just got married after all. Who doesn’t like extra money and a company sponsored stay. There was always the option of switching over while being in the USA.
But it was 2017 and my part time passion @FrustIndian was already a household name. I had saved a little and wanted to focus on building an alternate voice for India. I quit the firm and leapt into an unknown world. The next few months were a horror. But I preserved.
