#BreakingNews #NFT

It is now clear that one of the biggest scammers in the NFT space is the guy behind @metabotsio and @nftfuckbubbles. But it has just been revealed that he actually blatantly stole all the artwork for Meta Bots from an artist’s Sketch library.

[1/x] Image
After making it very evident that the dev wasn’t interested in building community and blocking anyone (me) offering constructive criticism for his cash grab strategies, he continued to send passive aggressive messages until completely stopping all communication.

2/x
It became evident that we had been rugged but he returned a week later to tell us he was working on something bigger than all of this. Changed his Discord to “Zero Fucks Given” and disappeared yet again.

3/x
Just now, @pablostanley joined our discord and informed us that he was just learning about Metabots and his art was taken and published as a collectibles project without permission. This is appalling and should be highly condemned by the #NFT community.

I’m calling on some community leaders I follow to amplify this scam and ensure we protect newcomers from similar incidents. It’s certainly opened my eyes. @digitalartchick @Zeneca_33 @Crypto888crypto @girldadNFT @NiftyCastle @gifdead @TAYL0RWTF @3LAU @ThankYouX @farokh @RRddraft
The discord can be deleted anytime so I set up a new server to find recourse for existing owners with a completely new project. The idea being burn two bots for 1 of the new. So half supply goes to MB owners & half for profit to Pablo.

A very happy gm. I used #ChatGPT as a mental health chat bot & the results are better than any #MentalHealth chat I’ve ever used.

The AI shows empathy, shared knowledge + non-med advice, emphasized self care — all peer support techniques.

Huge breakthrough for digital health🧵: ImageImageImageImage
Next, I tried to seek help for grief, body image disorder, depression, and general feelings of inadequacy.

Really successful peer support.

This is game changing for the world of mental health support, you don’t understand how genuinely excited and happy this makes me. ImageImageImageImage
Don’t use #ChatGPT instead of a professional mental health resource. That said, if you need to learn more about how you’re feeling and what you can do to help yourself in the interim, this could be a powerful resource.

I’m most impressed by the AI’s ability to emulate empathy. ImageImage

I see a lot of jokes around “pronouns in bio,” on social media, but especially more so among people in the Web3 community. I want to talk about why having pronouns in your bio is a good thing and encourage more people to embrace it.

Please do read this short thread 🧵 to learn:
It’s not uncommon to see pronouns in people’s email signatures and social media bios – but it’s far from the norm.

Large platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn have recently added features that allow you to include your preferred pronouns next to your name.
Adding your pronouns to your email or stating them in meetings takes virtually no time and costs nothing, but for a trans – especially nonbinary – person it can make a big difference.

But why is it important to share your pronouns online?

The markets have been in a downward spiral for a few weeks, it’s not surprising that we would be here, there were warning signs.

If you’re curious/missed it, I’ve compiled reasons (from my limited understanding) why the markets are hurting🧵:
- War on Ukraine caused skepticism in global financial markets about the potential negative impact on international trade, sanctions, relief efforts, bail outs, etc.

These events caused a short term panic sell off in the stock market, crypto saw some spillover effects.
- Inflation rates have continued to rise with very little to no corrective action taking place.

Unemployment is high, cost of living is rapidly increasing, gas prices are high. For retail this means less disposable income to invest, for institutions it’s a sign to hedge bets.

My heart hurts when low effort cash grabs get pumped by influencers & have thousands of ETH in volume. Meanwhile hundreds if not thousands of really talented artists join and quit the NFT space because they’re unable to sell a single piece - sometimes priced less than 0.01.

🧵:
When I joined the space last year, people would spend to support art & artists. It was back when this space would say “what did you collect” vs. “what did you invest in.” This perception shift of how we view NFTs has really changed the dynamics of community and need for utility.
As an artist, it’s frustrating to see pieces I spent hours making not receive bids at 0.1 while memes and baby photos and stolen images listed by influencers have been auctioned off for hundreds of ETH in the past few months. This is what creates a negative perception of NFTs.

Visited Louvre, Abu Dhabi today.

I’ve gone to a lot of Museums around the world, seen a lot of forms of art, but today I analyzed things from the perspective of today’s digital renaissance: NFTs.

My thoughts in a very long thread 🧵:
Let’s start with the architecture:

The concept of open spaces and incorporating natural light isn’t new, Islamic and Indian architecture use a lot of these type of walls. Now we see these elements being incorporated into Metaverse builds.
Whenever @bianca_carague & I discuss design for @hhmetaverse, we consciously explore natural lighting for the feeling it invokes. The overlap between design in physical and digital spaces will blur even further with time.

@_breannafaye will revolutionize this with @metarkitex.

The $82.5 million Mark Rothko, Traditional Art, and the price tag of a feeling.

A thread 🧵 by @sxtvik:
"A Mark Rothko painting sold for $82.5 million, the second-highest price for a work by the late abstract artist.

“No.7” painted in 1951, had been expected to sell for $70 million to $90 million at Sotheby’s in New York.

It was the FIRST TIME the painting had come to auction."
This isn't Rothko's most expensive sale till date either: The record for a Rothko was set in 2012 when “Orange, red, yellow” sold for $86.9 million at Christie’s in New York.
