This (very small) protest in Cuba is part of another US-backed astroturfed "color revolution" (read: regime-change) attempt, led by right-wing activists funded by the US government through CIA cutouts.

But there's a massive global propaganda campaign amplifying this tiny protest
That these US govt-backed regime-change operatives & their PR flacks in corporate media are claiming Cuba's highly funded socialist health care system is supposedly inadequate shows how cynical imperialist propaganda is, while the privatized US health hellscape bankrupts millions
Even this propagandist for US govt mouthpiece the NY Times, in her lie-filled article, admits there are only "hundreds" of Cubans participating in the tiny US-backed protests

And of course she only mentions the suffocating, criminal US blockade in passing
The US has a long history of using fake "left"-sounding critiques to legitimize objectively right-wing protests & confuse people

The tiny US-backed protests in Cuba today are reminiscent of the 2018 coup attempt in Nicaragua

They lied about Ortega's social security plan, that boosted taxes on corporations. The US-funded "protesters" were working with the chamber of commerce & wanted neoliberal IMF reforms
The right-wing anti-Cuba propaganda that the corporate media and thousands of bots are spreading today is honestly hilarious 😂 They keep boasting that these US-backed protests are the largest in Cuba's revolutionary history, while they share videos with barely 50 people 🤣

For the 29th year in a row, basically the entire world voted at the United Nations against the illegal, murderous US blockade on Cuba.

184 countries voted to end the US blockade.

Only 2 voted for it: the USA and Israel.

3 US client regimes abstained: Colombia, Ukraine, and UAE
Every year, practically every single country on Earth votes against the criminal US blockade on Cuba.

The only nations that vote in support of it -- Washington and its 51 state Israel -- are the true rogue regimes, that spit on international law and norms

100%. The soft-imperialist Global North fake "left" demonizes Nicaragua precisely because it defeated the US-backed 2018 coup, and is now preventing the possibility of a Nicaraguan Juan Guaidó.

Social chauvinist purists only support the left when it loses power and is victimized
Much of the North American "left" is obsessed with purity (although it has never had power), and only supports socialist movements when they're in opposition or overthrown, but demonizes them when they defeat attacks by imperialism and keep governing, like Nicaragua and Venezuela
The sad truth is many of the "leftists" demonizing Nicaragua (and Venezuela) today would have done the same to Salvador Allende when he was actually in power, trying to govern despite US economic warfare.

Before the CIA coup, Allende was attacked for not being "pure" enough

A bunch of liberal imperialist academics signed an open letter supporting right-wing US-funded coup-plotters in Nicaragua, smearing its elected Sandinista government.

Among the signatories are extremists who called for a US military invasion of Nicaragua

Days before Mexico's election, The Nation ran an absurd smear piece demonizing progressive President AMLO as the US funds coup-mongering rightwing groups trying to impeach him
A document leaked in 2020 proved Mexico's neoliberal political parties, capitalist oligarchs, and media secretly unified in a plot, backed by Washington and Wall Street, to try to impeach AMLO

US so-called "progressive" media ignored this and smeared AMLO

In the 1980s, the US State Dep't was exposed for spreading fake news not only abroad, but also against its own population - blatantly violating domestic laws - in an information war against Nicaragua's socialist gov't

If you think it's not doing the same today, you're very naive
In addition to funding and training Nicaragua's Contra death squads in the 1980s, the CIA:
-named their groups
-wrote their press releases
-"coached Contra leaders how to lie to reporters effectively"
-staged fake events for cameras

US Justice Dep't documents admit the US State Dep't and CIA trained Nicaragua's far-right Contras on how to disseminate propaganda to the US media and how to lobby members of US Congress, giving them lists of members "who would be vulnerable to charges of being soft on communism"
