Let's be 100% clear: the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is only apologizing because they were caught hiring a private investigator to dig up dirt on Manitoba's Chief Justice. They knew exactly what they were doing. Any attempt to save face is just damage control.
And today is a great day for journalists and the public to ask who exactly these folks are and who funds them. #mbpoli
Most non-profits don't have 10 staff lawyers. So let's follow the money.
From Alberta, where Jason Kenney once compared the organizations president to Martin Luther King Jr?! Strange bedfellows for a Canadian Premier to have.
So we've got a group that: 1. Has a fair bit of foreign money, linked to other groups like the Fraser Institute. 2. Has a particular disdain for LGBTQ* rights. 3. Is buds with a current Canadian premier.
And this is from a 5 minute scan. I have a feeling there is much, much more.

Politically, this should have been a good week for the MB government. Vaccine numbers are decent. Case counts receding. But the premier found a way to derail his own agenda, again. So why do the PCs keep him office? Will the MLAs speak out? A few thoughts. 1/?
2. We're now seeing senior civil servants speaking out in the press. Notably, they praise Friesen, Clarke and Cullen for actually working collaboratively. The wildcard is Pallister. He an ability to inflame and burn down. winnipegfreepress.com/local/no-recon…
Also interesting to see the Premiers office not attempting to ANY damage control here. Rather, they continue to double down. Pallister believes he's done great things for Indigneous folks, so therefore it must be true. Sounds like a positive two way relationship.
