Who wants facts?

Let’s go with Victoria first given our zero streak is over after 12 days. 😭
3 new cases today: The Hume family.
They returned from Sydney on a red permit last week.
They tested within 72 hours and all came back negative. Sounds all good right? Wrong!
Problem is - after their results – one left isolation and went to Coles Craigieburn Central and to a servo.
(54 shoppers now have to test and isolate)
This week they felt symptoms got nervous - got tested – two came back positive yesterday and one today.
They will not be fined.
The removalists:
Crew of three. Two are positive.
Contact tracers have interviewed them at length.
A Maribyrnong apartment block where they worked is now in lockdown (about 100 residents).
Contact tracers are trying to find around 50 people who were at Ballan Mc Donald’s and a servo at the same time as the workers. The Maccas is being deep cleaned because no one wants rona and fries.
NSW - let’s smash out the numbers:
89 new cases
75 are linked ( 16 are close contacts / 59 are from household spread)
14 are mystery cases
55 were in iso / 9 part iso
21 were in the community
A man in his 70s has died.
65 people are in hospital ( ⬆️ 2 from yday)
21 in ICU ( ⬆️ 3 from yday)
4 on ventilators ( same as yday )
767 cases have been reported since June 16.
Here are the main points:
The numbers are lower than yday but likely to bounce up and down like they did in Vic in August/Sept last year. There could be an announcement on their lockdown extension tomorrow. How long? Dunno it would be a guess not a fact.
New surevillence testing means Fairfield residents will have to test every three days if they leave their LGA for essential work.
People who leave Greater Sydney to go to regional NSW for essential work will have to test weekly.
No iso needed.
And theres a new rescue package for NSW:
$600 for 20 hours of work lost pw
$375 for 8-20 hours of work lost pw
$1500-10k per week for businesses (covering 40% of payroll costs up to $50M - if they have a drop in business of 30%) Annnd Vic is mad- statements in my previous tweets.
West Walkers/ Southies/Tassie/ACT/Norhies – allll in the no new cases club singing one sweet day by Mariah Carey while mourning the loss of Victoria.

More on them here ⬇️
What’s up WA?
Oh boy has one man found himself in a pickle.
A 53 year old has been jailed for seven months for breaching covid rules.
He had tradies over to his place when he was in iso - eeek.
And – he had people over to pick up items he’d sold online.
Bestie – you know what they say – loose lips sink ships.
He told one of his buyers that he was meant to be in quarantine- they dobbed him in – and now he’s in the bin.
Southies! Ok – they’re getting ready to ease restrictions with South East QLD.
They have one exposure site from the removalists:
Shell Servo at Tailem Bend. They’re going through the QR codes to see who was there.
They may have to use CCTV for those who didn’t check in.
The first feature-film in the world was ‘The Story of the Kelly Gang’. This 60-minute film was shown for the first time on December 26, 1906, at the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne. Added trivia bonus for-no prize - which famous Aussie has a ‘such is life’ tattoo?

Victoria - we’ve gone from sipping vodkas to panic at the disco. Let’s get through this without swearing? I’ll try.
Eight cases today.
1-4) Residents at the Maribrynong apartments
5-6) Two elderly parents linked to a man at the apartments.
7. One shopper at Coles Craigieburn who got it from the red permit rule breakers.
8. One more in the red zone rule breakers family.
You want the breakdown? I got you.

Righto Removalists:

Three removalists not wearing masks from Sydney arrived on July 8.
Residents in the Maribrynong apartments helped them move furniture. They were in the lifts. They were all over level three.

Health Minister Martin Foley: NSW health advised us last night that an infectious case was in Victoria and South Australia on the 8th and 9th of July. They stayed overnight on the 8th. They were working as a removalist. @7NewsMelbourne Image
There will be exposure sites from this case - Vic authorities waiting on information from NSW.

Who wants facts?

Ok NSW…let’s go.
16 new cases - 14 of them linked to known cases. Phew! 13 of them were in full iso, 1 in partial isolation during their infectious period.
Of the new cases three are from the Summit Care residential aged care facility in Baulkham Hills. 👵🏼 👴🏻 👴🏻 ⬅️ they’ve been taken to hospital as a precaution. They were all vaccinated - the rest of the residents remain in lockdown. Workers here tested positive earlier in the week.
There’s a small worry about some poop water at St Marys sewage treatment plant as there are no known cases in that area.

There’s also an alert for VA524 Gold Coast to Sydney on Saturday 26 June - multiple people have tested positive since travelling on this flight.
