Today’s Republican menu:
-Book bans and government mandated “patriotic education” consisting of bland euphemisms and pro-state lies
-Anti-voter laws allowing overturning elections
-Cash bounties to spy on pregnant women/force reproduction
- Violent revolution to maintain control

-Vehement attempts to beat back intellectualism, science and social liberalism, especially demands for redress of racial inequality, by demonizing them as dangerous, Marxist and communist…
-Repression of sexual minorities
-Elevation of a religious sect linked to partisan power

And preventing citizens from protecting themselves against a deadly virus which the faithful open themselves up to, to show fidelity to the political tribe by getting sick, infecting others and even dying…

Call it Talibanism, fascism, late stage Bolshevism… it’s wild.

And the thing is, the elites in the party know that this stuff is nuts, but they’re willing to go along with it in exchange for power. They’d happily be Trump’s corrupt little Duma, so long as they never again have to worry about mere voters being able to remove them from office.
