🔹️Clear & simple restrictions
🔹️Authorised Provider & Authorised Worker list
🔹️Vic Gov payment to stay home & not spread COVID-19
🔹️Mask rules

2/ 🔆 3 Ring Contact Tracing (1)
1. COVID-19 positive person isolated 14 days
2. Primary close contact of COVID-19 positive person quarantined 14
days
3. Close contact of P.2 - Secondary close contact. 14 days quarantine dependent on individual situation

3/ 🔆 3 Ring Contact Tracing (2)
🔸️Aim to stop chains of transmission
🔸️Ideally secondary contact test positive in quarantine, not in wild
🔸️Idea Vic got from Vietnam 👍 🇻🇳
🔸️Secondary contact may leave quarantine IF primary contact not in same house & has neg test day 3

4/ 🔆 Clear & Simple Restrictions
🔸️Easy to understand
🔸️Rules don't change on daily basis
🔸️Very few grey areas
🔸️Mandates not requests i.e. legally defined rules/restrictions
🔸️Strong Vic Gov directives - no individual discretion in rules

5/ 🔆 Authorised Provider & Authorised Worker List
🔸️Clear list of businesses that can stay open
🔸️Clear list of people who are allowed not to work from home
🔸️Sent out with Vic Gov press release announcing lockdown
🔸️Little business discretion on whether to open/close

6/ 🔆 Vic Gov Payment to Stay Home & Not Spread COVID-19 (1)
🔸️$450 payment to test & isolate till negative result
🔸️$1500 payment to stay home & isolate if test positive for 14 days
🔸️$1500 payment to stay home & quarantine if close contact for 14 days

7/ 🔆 Vic Gov Payment to Stay Home & Not Spread COVID-19 (2)
Available to:
🔸️Visa holders
🔸️Casual workers
🔸️Gig economy workers
🔸️People with no sick or pandemic leave
N/A to people on Centerlink benefits - benefit should go up if zero/less hours declared

8/ 🔆 Mask Rules
🔸️Mandated, even prior to outbreak
🔸️1st restriction to change if cluster/outbreak - Asked to wear more often ASAP
🔸️ KISS principle applied to mask wearing - no confusion on requirements
🔸️Because we were already wearing masks transmission risk less

9/end 🔆 Final thoughts...
🔸️Vic learnt a lot in 2nd wave
🔸️Have crushed Delta varient previously
🔸️Not afraid to go hard & go early
🔸️Lockdown extension likely - 1 or 2 weeks only & no more
