There is a Tsunami of anti-Yogi sentiment among UP Brahmins and Behanji is right now the most popular choice of UP Brahmins, who still remember their glory days of 2007, when Brahmins dominated UP. They also regret their betrayal towards BSP and Behanji.

Most people misunderstand Uttar Pradesh.

It is not Brahmins BUT Thakur, Rajput, Kshatriya community along with Sanskritized OBC communities, which are main oppressor of Dalits of UP.

Looking at Brahmin of UP from prism of Periyar's anti-Brahminism will give wrong results.

Brahmins of UP never had that suffocating kind of economic and political control that Brahmins in South enjoyed. BRAHMINS OF UP actually flourished politically not under BJP but under Congress, which is why Congress remained favorite party of UP Brahmins for decades.

Yogi or Ajay Kumar Bisht, a Pahari Thakur from Uttara Khand and Non Resident UPite, who was leading a monestary in Eastern UP and his own militia on Kshatriya Sena, seem to have had some kind of disdain for Brahmin community from his Gorakhpur days.

The first thing that YOGI ADITYANATH did upon taking oath as CM of UP was to CANCEL HOLIDAY on "Parshuram Jayanti", a mythical Brahmin warrior for Hindi speaking Brahmins of North causing widespread outrage among UP Brahmin community.

In 2007 UP state legislative elections, BSP gave tickets to 100 Brahmin candidates out of which 45 won. Mayawati also garnered nearly 12% of Brahmin votes of UP.

There is almost a "belief" among UP's Brahmin community that YOGI wants to take "revenge" for mythical Kshatriya murders by Parshuram by harassing, victimizing and sidelining Brahmins and want to replace their support for BJP by courting non Yadav Sanskritized OBCs.

Even Times magazine predicted that Mayawati could become India's first democratically elected PM based on her 2007 performance & expectation of BSP's big victory in UP.Congress destroyed that by luring Brahmins of UP back to Nehru legacy.CONGRESS got 20+seats from UP in Lok Sabha

BSP never recovered from 2009 Lok Sabha UP Brahmin betrayal despite doing so much for them.Modi's rise made UPBrahmins to dump Congress & move enmass to Modi his aggressive Hindutva, something that was natural for them.But Yogi's surprise CM selection disturbed BJP's Brahmin cart

Rise of Modi changed everything as Brahmins of UP dumped Congress & voted enmass for Modi, whose aggressive Hindutva agenda was naturally appealing to them. Laxmikant Bajpai, a Brahmin BJP leader from Meerut was instrumental in BJP's massive victory in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Many in BJP, especially Brahmin party workers expected Laxmikant Bajpai to be the CM of UP, when BJP repeated its electoral success in UP state assembly elections.

But Amit Shah instead chose Yogi Adityanath. That was the beginning of fissures between BJP & UP Brahmins.

Mayawati Behanji has a party to run and duty to deliver Lucknow's throne to Bahujan samaj once again, who want her to return to power.This is about politics and not ideology. She must do everything to capture Lucknow.But this time no need to pamper Brahmins uncessarily
