Frustrating to read in July 2021 when vaccines have proven effective and are readily available in the US.

I know some well educated people who insist on staying unvaccinated. Due to how they were raised or where they grew up, they would rather take their chances with covid-19 (the delta and other new variants) than take a vaccine that has been administered to 100s millions of people.

The problem is that healthcare workers and the vulnerable people in society are now “putting themselves in harm’s way for people who’ve chosen not to protect themselves”

“Some health-care workers are starting to resent their patients—an emotion that feels taboo.”

The piece describes an encounter between a nurse and an elderly man admitted to hospital for covid. Only after admission to hospital did he want to ask about getting the vaccine.

It’s too late and unfortunately many unvaccinated people will be in this situation as delta spreads.

I had a healthy skepticism of covid vaccines at the start of 2021.

But since then, 100s of millions have been vaccinated. 3.6 billion shots globally.

Between getting a vaccine vs eventually getting covid, the choice is clear.

I got vaccinated after deliberating on this choice.

I can't financially cover for the extremely rare people who develop severe side effects from covid vaccines in the US.

But are the people advocating against vaccines in all the hospitals, comforting and compensating covid patients on their death beds?
