!! ALERT - Jan 6 defendant Pauline Bauer just told a judge she's a "Soverign citizen" and not subject to the court's laws.

And she keeps interrupting judge. Getting ugly in this proceeding

Bauer: "I think the American people will be shocked to find out who owns the Capitol building right now"

Judge cut her off.... possibly for the betterment of everyone

Bauer -- who just declared herself a sovereign citizen to court -- refuses to answer "yes" when judge asks her if she understands him

She says instead she "comprehends" it

Not sure what's behind that word choice

Meanwhile, this Jan 6 hearing is spiraling out of control

Pauline Bauer is peppering judge with questions about whether the court "recognizes" her as judge...

Then she tells judge: "Every man is independent of all laws, except those of nature'

Judge: "In light of difficulties of representing yourself, are you still interested in representing yourself"
