Our fate is sealed. I'm sure the unvaccinated 20-30 somethings in ICUs would end up there anyway even if they were fully vaccinated- if not because of covid, because of something else!
Q: I don't get it- you're saying vaccines are amazing, & everyone should get vaccinated. But more time to vaccinate more people wouldn't have prevented any hospitalisations?

This wave is different from the last wave. Last few times we let it rip, we had all those media idiots whining about thousands of deaths (even though we know deaths are inevitable!). Those whingy health-care workers never shut up about bed shortages, people dying and what not?
Now we can let it rip & go for herd immunity but without all those alarmist headlines & all the whinging frontline workers & scientists. & if HCWs are infected, no problem, we'll just keep them in work so they can't whinge about 'staff shortages'. They're vaccinated after all!
What's that? long COVID? The clue is in the word 'long' - effect felt after the next election! don't care! See, it doesn't figure in any of our policies, because we believe in living in the moment. Thankfully, media memory is short.
If people do link it to our policies, we'll just say we made the best decisions based on the best scientific advice at the time. So much easier given I'm joined here by my CSA and deputy CMO who are happy to stand by as I doom hundreds of thousands of you to chronic illness!

They can talk to each other, so they don't feel alone! We have no clue how to treat it anyway, so talking might help? And remember that's not severe - because they didn't die! Suffering isn't visible, so it doesn't matter. We only care about the numbers the media whinges about!
Also, remember that suffering and illness is inevitable. Those kids would've gotten ill at some point in their lives anyway. We're just delaying it not preventing it. Illness if not from COVID, from something else. Why not now? And if not now, when? Just get it out of the way.
No, we won't vaccinate them. Why bother, when infection is so much faster. I mean exponential growth is phenomenal. Gotta love it!! We can infect millions of them in just weeks! No way we can vaccinate them as fast, especially if supplies are limited!
We have our 'vaccine wall'. And soon we'll have our 'herd immunity by infection' wall, built on infecting millions of children and young people! Come winter, we'll be all prepped and ready - who needs vaccines, when one can engineer superspreading! In schools! In nightclubs!
Oh, and be cautious, do things gradually (unlike us!), because if you do enjoy the 'freedoms' we've been harping on about, we'll definitely blame you if you do what we're telling you to, and then need to lockdown again!
