Today marks six months of the Biden-Harris Administration. In six months, this Administration has fueled record-breaking job growth, vaccinated over 160 million people – and captured a lot of photos along the way. Here are a few snapshots from our time in office so far:
President Biden takes the Oath of Office on January 20, 2021. You can read the President’s full inaugural address here: whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/…
The American Rescue Plan passes the Senate, putting checks in bank accounts and COVID-19 vaccines in the arms of tens of millions of Americans. The Rescue Plan also provided food and rent assistance, kept businesses open, and laid the foundation for today's record job growth.
President Biden visited the National Institutes for Health on February 11th to tour the vaccine research center. As of today, more than 160 million Americans are fully vaccinated thanks to our vaccine strategy and the efforts of the scientific community and frontline workers.
President Biden began his address to a joint session of Congress on April 28 with words never before spoken by a President from that podium: “Madam Speaker. Madam Vice President.”
President Biden attended the G7 on the first foreign trip of his Administration. During this trip, President Biden announced the United States would send more than half of a billion COVID-19 vaccines to countries needing them most.
On June 17th, President Biden signed legislation making Juneteenth an official holiday. In attendance at the bill signing was Ms. Opal Lee, considered by many to be the grandmother of the movement to make Juneteenth a national holiday.
These are just a few of the moments that have made the last six months. Follow @whitehouse and @potus on Instagram for more.

Despite the strong economic recovery under President Biden, two once-in-a-generation economic downturns have made the path to the middle class difficult for many young Americans. Here's a #WhiteHouseDeepDive into how the Build Back Better Agenda helps young people. THREAD:
Young people face barriers on the path to economic security. Home ownership rates are at a historic low for young adults, child care for two children costs at least 50% of the median millennial's salary in 47 states and DC, and the climate crisis poses an urgent threat. 2/10
So how does the Build Back Better Agenda help? It starts with education:
- Providing 2 years of free community college
- Lowering costs for low and middle income students at HBCUs and minority-serving institutions
- Raising the maximum Pell Grant by nearly $1,500

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework takes critical first steps to address economic inequities and decades of infrastructure neglect that have disproportionately impacted communities of color.
Here's how the plan will advance racial equity — #WhiteHouseDeepDive THREAD🧵:
Today's digital divide is stark.
Black families are 9% less likely to have high-speed internet than their white peers – and Latino Americans are 15% less likely. Roughly 35% of individuals living on Tribal lands lack access to broadband internet.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework will help close the digital divide by bringing down internet service costs across the board and delivering high-speed broadband to every American home -- making high-speed broadband more affordable for all.

Tackling the climate crisis is a core piece of the Build Back Better Agenda. Here are just some of our plans address climate change while rebuilding the economy for the middle class.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework makes major strides. It will shift thousands of diesel buses to electric, create good-paying, union jobs to cap tens of thousands of methane-leaking oil and gas wells, and clean up Brownfields and Superfund sites.
But we need to go further.
President Biden's Build Back Better Agenda will provide tax cuts for businesses and consumers who invest in clean energy technologies and set a clean electricity standard that moves us to a 100% clean grid by 2035.

Today President Biden outlined key pieces of his Build Back Better Agenda, a plan that would rebuild the middle class and create an economy that works for every American.

But, how exactly do we Build Back Better? Let's dig in with a #WhiteHouseDeepDive THREAD🧵
To win the 21st Century, build an economy from the bottom up and the middle out, and deal everyone in – we need to invest in our people. The Build Back Better Agenda combines the American Families Plan and the remaining pieces of the American Jobs Plan to do just that.
The Agenda will make education more affordable and expand opportunity by providing free universal preschool and two years of free community college, lowering college costs for low-and middle-income students, and increasing Pell Grants.
