Freedman claims that Grimes is alleged to be "low-level" player in all of this.
He says that his client has been aware of the investigation in this case for years and he did not flee. That was not true of the UAE national co-defendant in this case, according to the govt.
Freedman is offering a $2 million placeholder bond, along with a number of release conditions.
"I understand that the government is firm on wanting property," he says.
The lawyer has Grimes's passport.
Judge finds Grimes poses a "very serious risk of flight" and she's inclined to order detention based on that risk.
The judge is asking about how long Grimes's transfer to New York would take.
AUSA says that he will communicate with the Marshals to try to get an estimate.
Judge sets a court date of Monday, July 26th at 10 a.m. for further discussion of detention/bond request.
She orders Grimes's detention pending that hearing.
If Grimes can be extradited before July 26th, the EDNY can hear the matter.

Welcome back, all. Is everyone caffeinated and refreshed?
Judge: "As promised, we will begin with Mr. Wood."
Wood: "What I wanted to make clear is, as I said at the beginning," he does not believe the court has jurisdiction over him and that he did not sign the pleading.
