Displaying certain emotions to meet the requirements of the job.

There are three requirement to qualify as emotional labor. (source: wikipedia)

🙂Requires face-to-face or voice-to-voice contact with the public.

🙂Requires the worker to produce an emotional state in another person.

🙂Allows the employer, through training and supervision, to exercise a degree of control over the emotional activities of employees.

Those requirements indicate than almost any job can require emotional labor of the worker.

Which is why leaders simply must be skilled at recognizing, developing and supporting the humans who work for them.

Or they do if they want to *keep* those humans working for them.

Bosses and owners who've chosen to be Leaders are everywhere and they get the best talent to come on board and stick around.

Be one of those Leaders.
