1/ #break German court sentenced today the ISIS woman whose Syria phone content I published to 6 extra months in jail for having used enslaved Yazidi women as she lived in Raqqa. In 2020 this ISIS woman already got 3,5 yrs so total now 4 yrs jail. Details: akhbaralaan.net/news/special-r…
2/ During the trial, ISIS woman Omaima Abdi admitted to having used enslaved two Yazidis -among them a 13 yr old enslaved girl- as she lived in Raqqa. Although Abdi blamed media for a witch-hunt against her, she eventually apologized to the Yazidi women.
3/ Abdi further stated that she wants to forget about the whole ISIS episode as soon as possible. “After I am free, I would like to set up a hairdressing studio,” she said, “And I want to be as soon as possible reunited with my four children”.
4/ One of the Yazidi women who was enslaved by ISIS & used by Abdi and other ISIS members was present in the courtroom. She said she didn't have the luxury of Abdi to forget past & focus on future. "We don't have that possibility, we can never forget what happened to us." @akhbar
5/ The Yazidi woman, who was enslaved by ISIS and had to work for Abdi in Raqqa, said during the trial in Germany: "We Yazidis were destroyed by ISIS because of our religion and we were made slaves because we are women.”
6/ The name of the Yazidi woman can't be published. She keeps very much low profile in Germany. She was also protected by two policemen as many ISIS supporters live freely in Germany and pose a threat to her.
7/ Although ISIS woman Abdi apologized to the Yazidi women, nobody in the courtroom knew if Abdi really meant what she said.
Prosecutor and even Abdi’s own lawyer hinted they didn't know if the apology was sincere or if it only was a strategic move to escape a harsher sentence.
8/ Acc to the authorities Abdi is being treated by Legato, a German organization which tries to de-radicalize ISIS members and supporters. Abdi also receives psychological help. Abdi admitted during the trial that “It is difficult to break with extremism from one day to another.”
9/ There's good reason to doubt Abdi has de-radicalized. Because one of the people who attended the trial in support of Abdi was well known German Islamic extremist, Bernhard Falk. Not only did he attend trial, online he asked his followers to support "wife of Denis Cuspert."
10/ Bernhard Falk is ex-member of an extreme left wing armed group in Germany. After having spend 12 years in jail, Falk converted to Islam and has since been a staunch supporter of imprisoned extremists in Germany who support groups such as AlQaeda, ISIS or the Taliban.
11/ Falk did not only come a couple of times as a visitor to the courtroom during Abdi's trial, he also met – outside the court building in a nearby park - Abdi’s lawyer, Tarig Elobied, for a private talk.
12/ During the trial more details about Abdi’s time in Syria with ISIS were revealed by a member of Hamburg police who investigated Abdi. Acc to her, Abdi was very proud to be in Syria with ISIS and to have a child from Denis Cuspert, one of most notorious German ISIS commanders.
13/ Abdi also made it on multiple occasions clear that she enjoyed her time with ISIS in Syria, according to the member of the Hamburg police.
“She [Abdi] said she had a great time [in Syria], I don’t regret anything, everything happens for a reason.”
14/ The reason Abdi eventually left Syria and went back to Germany was, acc to Hamburg police testimony, because Abdi's husband, Denis Cuspert, said he wanted to marry a second wife. Abdi did not accept that & kicked him out of the house in Raqqa.
15/ Abdi and Cuspert got into a big fight about him marrying a second wife. Abdi then decided to leave ISIS part of Syria with their son and three other children from two earlier marriages. Abdi reached Turkey, Cuspert was eventually killed in an airstrike by a coalition plane.
16/ Acc to Hamburg police who investigated the case, Abdi does not allow any other woman in her surroundings. That's why Abdi & Cuspert did not permanently have enslaved Yazidis in their Raqqa house because Abdi knew that ISIS husbands would sexually abuse enslaved Yazidi women.
17/ Basically, ISIS woman Abdi didn't want to permanently have enslaved Yazidi women in her house because she would be jealous when her husband would be raping the enslaved women. My God, what a crazy world we're living in. Anyhow, I hope this thread was informative.

Controversy in #Denmark. Government wants to get rid of Syrian refugees &is offering cash if they leave Denmark. 100+ Syrian families took offer & left. Others fear for their safety in case they go back to Syria. I spoke to worried Syrians in Denmark who refuse to leave. @akhbar
Syrians I spoke to said: Danish gov offers Syrian family of 5 around $50.000 if they leave Denmark. And if you leave, Danish gov will pay child support until kids are 18 yrs. Families don't necessarily have to go back to Syria. "As long as you leave Denmark, they give money."
But although Danish gov gives financial incentives to Syrian refugees to leave, many don't want to. Main reasons I heard is that Syrians fear they are wanted in Syrian government areas. And many are already 5/6 yrs in Denmark, they want to build future there, not pack bags again.
On my weekly show on @akhbar we talked about females doing "male" jobs. I had 2 very interesting guests. Rana - Lebanon's first female car mechanic. And Nayla - the only female taxidriver in Gaza. Such inspiring ladies ♥️
Favorite car of Nayla - the only female taxi driver from Gaza- is a BMW. She works to support her family &kids. Her family was first against her doing "male" job. Nayla only drives female customers. "Most are happy to be chauffeured by a woman instead of man", she says.
According to Nayla, male taxi drivers in Gaza sometimes block her road because they don't like that a female works as taxi driver. "I don't care," she says, "I push my car until I am through."
Nayla is new on Instagram. You can follow her here 👇
1/ Guilty or not? I discuss the arrest in France of Islam Alloush, ex-spokesman of Syrian rebel group Jaish al-Islam, accused of human rights violations. His brother @DrNehma says he is innocent. @Aous_Al_mubarak +Anas Al Khawli insist he is guilty. Thread
2/ Context: Islam Alloush was spokesman of Jaish al Islam, Islamist opposition group in Ghouta. After group lost Ghouta to Syrian gov, Alloush got French visa to study there. Opposition activists recognized him in France & said he is guilty of human rights violations in Ghouta.
3/ Although in a French jail now for over a year, the twitter account of Islam Alloush (whose real name is Majdi Nehma) still functions. It is: @MajdiNema. His family uses the account @Majdifamily to campaign for his release.
2/ Here my report for @akhbar on the new ISIS files I discovered in Syria.
It gives information on Al-Fateheen unit. 800+ documents with many Jihadi names of ISIS members. Also in which battle they participated, how much salary & war spoils they got.
3/ These new ISIS files were left behind by ISIS when they fled. They were saved by citizens. I held originals in my hand and photographed them. Docs were filled out by ISIS fighters from Germany, Australia, France, Indonesia, Russia, Turkey etc, incl 100s of Syrian ISIS members.

1- Membership of a terrorist organization. 2- Neglecting her duties as a parent. 3- Possessing illegal firearms 4- Aiding and abetting the slavery of a Yazidi girl.
3/ While inside the Hamburg courtroom #ISIS woman Omaima Abdi was sentenced to 3.5 years, outside a handful of anti-ISIS demonstrators carried posters. On it slogans such as: "Women also can be culprits" and "Protect the victims".
