If Blizzard actually makes changes, fires abusers and starts placing more women and women of colour in senior roles, the next uphill battle will be the very loud "anti-woke" element of the community claiming the non-"old boys club" are ruining WoW. They already do it.
Going back to those fake leaks that u watched a lot of the community share uncritically, one major giveaway that they were fake with a specific agenda is they make no mention of the sexual harassment lawsuit, & in fact try to imply the company is being destroyed by "woke" changes
Like, those leaks actually suggest disassociating from the Kael'thas Sunstrider voice actor was the wrong move. The implication being that they should have kept the guy accused of sexual assault. 
The leaks also straight up claim the company has taken going "woke" too far and that it's ruining Blizzard's identity. The suggestion that all cancelled subs give a reason like "go woke go broke" is the biggest giveaway that these leaks are absolutely fake
The narrative that WoW is being ruined and devolving specifically because it's gotten rid of too many of the "old crowd" is a pushback against any attempt at change or movement away from an old boys' club.
Real change will meet the same resistance.

As fans, we don't have a whole lot of control over what does happen at Blizzard besides calling for change, but we can be prepared to challenge that narrative from community

Like, this was already happening. There have already been major claims that changes made for "woke" reasons are what's killing the game.

We criticize Blizzard for not making meaningful change but we can't ignore the death threats and meltdown that happens whenever they do make any change at all that can even vaguely be accused of being "woke". That's our community doing that. We are partly responsible.
