CEO Diess about production in 2H21

"Electric cars will no longer need government subsidies in a few years because by then they will usually no longer be more expensive to produce than ICE. Diesel is subsidized with €8bn in tax benefits per year which is several times more than government EV subsidies

VW reported 2,900 ID.4 deliveries in 🇨🇳 China in June but did not disclose that this includes VW dealers

The largest Chinese car portal Autohome counts only 2,014 sales in June

In May it was 1,213

These are embarrassing and devastating numbers
The CEO Diess called VW before a Chinese Company bc with 40% sales it's the most important region globally

Against this background, the poor sales figures for the ID.4 "came as a shock to the company” a Manager from the Peking subsidiary said

VW blames chip shortages as cause🤥
Not only software issues but also hardware decisions are not liked in China

In a survey from „ifeng Auto“ the biggest disadvantage of the ID.4 was named as the drum brake

It has the same software as all MEB IDs showing gas stations instead of charging stations, is not responsive and ergonomic, no OTA yet and frustrates owners
