Q: Will we see police presence in neighborhood?
TB: Current police chief is trained, has spoken with him about problem. Has created plan for crime hotspot ( Club Sunoco)
TK: As council member, need to be patient for changes. Council must improve police compensation to expand department
Q: How will you respond to blight, B&E, other crime?
CdM: work to educate about sign ordinances for election candidates. 1. Education 2. (ran out of time)
CP: Fighting blight is all our duty. Would reach out to appropriate officials. She's a fighter.
TK: Plan to build community. Problem is a social issue, support block clubs, other neighborhood volunteer orgs. Connecting citizens to officials is the JOB of council
TB: Had worked with previous council to support anti-crime initiative (provided cameras from her security co.). Encourage community involvement, change 'no snitching ' culture to 'save a life'
Q: What are you going to do to encourage functional council meetings?
CP: Says she can get along with anyone, and will negotiate. No time for pettiness, and will speak up.
TK: He will not engage in petty arguments, but will fight with a smile and a respectful dialogue.
TB: Promises to "keep it classy". She will act like a winner, not a fighter creating chaos, and have discussions off taxpayers' time.
CdM: BBA degree has given him management skills to address conflicts, has used them as chair of various organizations. Leadership, focus, relationships.
