@theautismcafe You don’t get to pretend you speak for all parents of high needs autistic kids. I’ve set my ego aside, learned far more about my aut sons by listening to autistic people. I don’t actually know more about my autistic sons than autistic people do. I have no problem admitting that

@theautismcafe I had no idea who you are, but it seems the main part of your advocacy is only validating the autism of my high support needs aut son as you malign and invalidate people like my lower needs aut son. Autism advocacy isn’t trashing autistic people. Your page is traumatizing for me

@theautismcafe One last thought. ABA is in fact sick abuse; it completely destroyed my 15 year old. Notice those most in favor have not picked up the pieces of the lives shattered by it later on. I’m sorry for who this might hurt, but I’m most concerned about the kids ABA is ruining.

@theautismcafe As my school district increased ABA for high support needs autistics & ADHDs, so too did restraint/seclusion numbers increase. If ABA is so efficacious, why would cruel and dangerous aversives like restraint and seclusion be increasing at the same rate as increased ABA services?

@theautismcafe @lowarousal When my nonspeaking, high needs aut son was removed from ABA, in school that doesn’t use seclusion, his behaviors improved, SIB gone, and he started verbally communicating. Behaviorism causes long term emotional damage. I know; I’ve picked up the pieces of a shattered soul later

@theautismcafe @lowarousal So if you or your followers refuse to listen to actually autistic survivors of ABA and aversives, will you listen to the mother of 2 auts, ages 15 and 29? I’m telling you, continue in behaviorism, and you will be dealing with the emotional trauma and anxiety disorders later.

@theautismcafe @lowarousal My 15 y/o has PTSD from ABA and seclusion abuse he was subjected to by those practicing it. Seclusion is torture, literally. ABAI, NCSA, all these orgs support restraint and seclusion of autistic people. This is we are so angry

I’m ADHD. Neurodiversity has liberated me mind, body, and spirit. You misrepresenting us should be beneath you

You have option of blocking ppl, but you choose to malign instead, as you defend those causing the harm that causes the rage you find so detestable. You think it’s all abt you.
