Since annexing Crimea, the Russian disinformation machinery has repeatedly characterized Ukraine as a nation of neo-nazi thugs. In an ironic twist, we have found convincing evidence that Russia may be engaging with German far-right figures to spread their propaganda into Europe.
Software normally used to identify plagiarizers & college cheats, identified a series of linked articles with questionable authorship. All contained a narrative casting doubt on Navalny's poisoning & featured quotes from low-level European politicians & journalists.
The 3 articles appeared consecutive days; 11-13 Sept 2020. The German articles roughly translate to:
"Case Navalny": What is really about?
"Case Navalny": International journalists & experts comment on doubts.
Numerous similarities existed between the articles, reflecting crude copy & paste efforts. The opening of 2 articles contained "Navalny had been flown on 22 August with poisoning symptoms from Russia for medical treatment to Berlin" & the article structures were near identical
The articles appeared in Zeurst! @freewestmedia & @MagazinArcadi. In Oct all 3 publications again published a near identical narrative on consecutive days, 8-10 Oct. All suggesting that Navalny was a CIA asset & the poisoning was an attempt to de-rail the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
The editor of Zuerst!, is the disgraced far-right figure Manuel Ochsenreiter who has significant Russian links & was implicated in a false-flag attack on a Hungarian cultural center in Ukraine. As reported by @emilyrs@shaunwalker7theguardian.com/world/2019/jan…
In addition to editing Zuerst!, Ochsenreiter also appeared in Arcadi & FWM, indicating further links across the 3 publications. He was formerly an advisor to Markus Frohmaier of the right-wing German AfD party but stepped down & fled to Russia after the botched false-flag attack
One of the quoted right-wing figures casting doubt on the Navalny poisoning was Vávra Suk, editor of Swedish far-right newspaper Nya Tider which regularly publishes material by Ochsenreiter. Suk is also the registered owner of the FWM site.
Other European figures quoted were Gunnar Lindemann (AfD) Johän Backman, Andrea Giannotti & Erik Almqvist. Alongside Suk & Ochsenreiter all acted as 'independent observers' in disputed Russian elections, including illegitimate Donetsk & Crimean elections (fakeobservers.org)
The articles are penned under the names Carsten Fromm & Elisabeth Krüger, whose names also appear on similar articles about Libya, another regular subject of Russian disinformation. This leads to the question, are these authors as fake as the articles that bear their names?
Does Russia want @UN_CAR (MINUSCA) & France out of the Central African Republic (#CAR)? Wherever Russia goes disinformation follows & CAR is no different with well-practiced Prigozhin style techniques on show for all to see. See below thread 👇
@Graphika_NYC highlighted a French vs Prigozhin Facebook troll battle to control the CAR narrative. Those networks were dismantled but it would appear that Prigozhin's appetite remains undiminished. public-assets.graphika.com/reports/graphi…
In May 2021 big budget film Tourist premiered in Bangui. The film glorifies Wagner mercenaries operating in CAR. Listed in it's credits is Paritet Media, assoc to Prigozhin's wife. See @sebshukla article: edition.cnn.com/2021/05/28/afr…
