Border force Poland on quest might at one point have been seen as somewhat comical , but in reality people bringing in products from outside the EU ( Ukraine ) into Poland ( in the EU ) is exactly what we’ll be subject to as time goes on ..
As borders become more established , and customs officials learn and become accustomed to knowing the regulations on prohibited goods - expect to see the U.K. subject to exactly the same treatment as other counties bordering the EU .
Imagine a family going on holiday to France , car and caravan at the ready. Fridge full of food. Having ALL of your dairy and meat products taken away and also issued with fines. Aint brexit great . Of course Covid has suppressed this .. so far
U.K. tourists will , in time be in for a rude awakening . Covid has meant virtually everyone travelling for tourism purposes simply have not experienced this yet .

So :
I have a regular contract coming up for 2 months to move aircraft parts from London to Brussels - it’s time sensitive stuff and will now require a T1 ( a trip to the agent to clear )
Not only do you risk being sent to customs in Calais you also risk being delayed in BE
Of course , you may breeze strait through - but can’t risk it , so ..... the vans will leave 8-10 hours earlier than normal just in case . A trip to brussels now takes 2 days - not 1 ..
Problem is - being forced to send your products half way round the world in order to survive and still being 40 % down isn’t actually much of a bonus . Those markets could have been sourced before we left .
As for stagetruck .. they’re off to Europe in order to survive .
The vegan bars / sending them in containers isn’t exactly cost effective
Not many brexit benefits is there
And don’t forget - all the crew / back line / the merchandise industry - they’ll all go with the likes of stagetruck. Labour and merch will be sourced in mainland Europe . Not here
Back before brexit I was asked to drive a van load of art to Belgium .
Long story short , with the border closed and bust on other work - the job never went .
Anyway !
Beginning of jan it was attempted to get the gear over , but there was an issue 1.
with the vat - and this stuff wasn’t cheap , as customer already paid the vat on the U.K.
After one month !! - it was decided goods could travel on a T2 to Belgium
Last week T2 issued , and driver went to collect papers . Was told there was an X on the MRN and sent to 2.
ebbsfleet ( from Ashford )
Once there he was asked what he was doing there - and he shouldn’t be there .. and asked to leave . But he couldn’t leave as it is a customs bonded facility . So 5 hours later he was allowed to leave

Ive just read a post from a massive , and I mean massive pro brexit supporting haulier whose recently spent hours and hours in cairnryan port because of his ignorance to just turn up at the port and expect to sail to NI with no paperwork. Seriously 😳
I’m itching to share it but it would be unfair . I’m not really into naming and shaming .
Here we go . Feel free to have a look and a laugh . Because of his ignorance ( he knew what he was voting for ) the production line had to stop . “ Who knew you had to have customs paper work “
316 trucks have passed through the customs checkpoint since it became operational, with each check taking just a few minutes to process. Unfortunately, things at Ashford aren't quite as smooth though; some drivers had to wait hours to get paperwork cleared trans.info/en/lorry-park-…
Let me get this right : 316 trucks over fifteen days is an average of 21 trucks a day !! That’s not many exports leaving Portsmouth .....
Portsmouth - Santander only two ferries a week ......
