The funny part? Most of the people who actually sat with me or saw my work or were on the other teams I worked with? Told me good things or actually communicated what they needed and we worked to make it happen. Talk about conflicting messages and self-confidence destruction.
Oof, the micromanagement though, y’all. Having to prove yourself from ground zero every time you got a new manager, when your male colleagues didn’t… especially when dotted line middle managers got to them before you did because you were either on maternity leave or vacation…
(Both of which are privileges, yes. But super fun when new people start while you’re gone and one of your main harassers & diminishers who loves playing politics has a full two week to two months head start on you!)
Had to send literal line items of my day. Took a damned hour at the end of each day, threatening my ability to pick up my baby from daycare.
Had another manager sit and track my bathroom breaks and time away from my desk, but then reprimand me when I spend too much time there.

This was after eight years as a producer & five years at mid level, that last bit. That on top of another incident that I described elsewhere in these tweet storms were some of the last straws. I know who played to the new folks to direct attention from themselves. I won’t forget
I was a fucking producer. I shipped my software product along with everything we as Blizz shipped from 2011 onward. From 2012 on I was the main coordinator between external-facing teams (games, bnet, etc) and our team.
Tracking my movements and minutiae was insulting & no male in my role and at my level would have stood for it.
