@GovDeSantis 3. DeSantis acted to prevent others in his state — local governments, schools, businesses — from taking steps to slow the spread of the deadly virus.
He mocked public health officials and catered to anti-vaxxers.
5. DeSantis' order discourages mask-wearing in schools
It asserts w/0 evidence that "forcing children to wear masks could inhibit breathing & lead to the collection of dangerous impurities including bacteria, parasites, fungi, and other contaminants"
7. The coverage of DeSantis has been an abomination and is reflective of what happens when you cover everything -- even a response to a deadly pandemic -- like a horse race.
3. The chair of @RepublicanAGs, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr (R), resigned, citing "vastly opposite views of the significance of the events of 1/6”
REMINDER: Just a few weeks ago the entire conservative media (and some of the mainstream media) was praising DeSantis’ strategy of pretending COVID didn’t exist as a political masterstroke
DeSantis has gone well beyond ignoring the problem. He is actively trying to obstruct anyone in Florida — businesses, schools — from addressing the problem
1. FBI Director Christopher Wray conducted a sham investigation of the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh and then covered it up for two years
2. Wray established a tip line for people with information about the allegations against Kavanaugh, collected 4500 tips, apparently conducted no follow up, and forwarded "relevant" tips to the White House
3. Wray and Kavanaugh overlapped at Yale law school, worked together during the George W. Bush administration, and are both members of the right-wing Federalist Society
2. On 1/26, @Google said it "will not be making any contributions this cycle to any member of Congress who voted against certification of the election results"
In June, @Google donated 15K to the @NRCC, which is supporting the reelection of 130+ Republican objectors
3. After 1/6, @Verizon said it was “suspending contributions in 2021 to any member of Congress who voted in favor of objecting to the election results.”
