2/ Just after she crossed the 200 Meter finish line on Tuesday, Elaine Thompson-Herah displayed what is known as a Wide Open Tongue Jut (be careful to not confuse this Nonverbal signal with a Loose Tongue Jut or a Tight Tongue Jut).
3/ The Wide Open Tongue Jut (WOTJ), as its name implies (and are well-exemplified here) is characterized by a momentarily widely-open mouth — with the tongue extending dramatically.
4/ The Wide Open Tongue Jut is often, but not always seen during moments of joy — often profound joy. It sends signals of emotions of unabashed playfulness as well as disinhibition (i.e., 'This is the real me').
5/ Although the WOTJ display is most often seen during moments of triumph — intriguingly, it's also displayed during moments of failure with accompanying self-deprecating emotions (at such times it's helpful to think of the WOTJ as a Playful Nonverbal Version of Sorry Not Sorry).
6/ Fascinatingly, individuals who frequently display the Wide Open Tongue Jut - will have higher than average Sincerity Quotients. They also tend to be people who are thrive on creativity.
7/ Elaine Thompson-Herah's fingers are also widely splayed — another intriguing correlation often accompanying the Wide Open Tongue Jut.
1/ THREAD: Congratulations to #KarstenWarholm, who just won Olympic Gold while setting a truly unbelievable World Record in the 400 Meter Hurdles (45.94).
2/ You'll note Warholm's facial expression — his extremely wide open upper and lower eyelids. At maximum display, the mouth also has a dramatic vertically-oriented oval shape — with little or no visible teeth exposed — indicating true/sincere surprise.
3/ Sudden grabbing/touching the sides of one's head in this context indicates an emotional processing/disbelief.
The intellect knows what has just occurred, however, the emotional brain has yet to process the event.
2/ On Thursday 1 July 2021, Allen Weisselberg was indicted. Along with the Trump Organization, Mr. Weisselberg is facing tax-related charges and grand larceny in the second degree.
3/ In this close-up of Weisselberg's hands, we can see the police used handcuffs with a four-wrist design/variation.
2/ If we look at this image, at first glance we may conclude that both Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden are laughing — and specifically, laughing sincerely — but we'd be wrong. Putin's laugher is feigned, while Biden's is true. But how can we tell this?
3/ One clue is seen in each man's lower eyelids. With sincere laughing as well as sincere smiling, there MUST BE temporary, concave up furrows present in the lower eyelids.
2/ Although the resolution is somewhat less than optimal here, it's notable in this moment, just prior to their hands meeting, Joe Biden is looking Putin in the eye, but Vladimir is not doing the same — rather, he's looking at Biden's hand.
3/ I train CEOs, Politicians, Sales Professionals, Attorneys, Physicians, Directors, Actors, Negotiators, etc., and the low percentage of these professionals who make eye contact during a handshake is astounding.
2/ During the 1:41 - 1:43 mark in this video, as Putin is answering a question about his upcoming meeting with @JoeBiden (referred to here, not by name, but as, "The U.S. President"), Putin scratches his nose and the medial aspect of his left eye with his left middle finger.
3/ Make no mistake, Putin is giving Biden the middle finger in this moment.
