🚨Heidi Kim's 5 y.o. daughter has COVID just days into the new school year at EduPrize in San Tan Valley #Arizona. Her 8 y.o. daughter is sick too. Gov Doug Ducey banned mask mandates in schools despite CDC & AAP recommendations. abc15.com/news/coronavir…
“There are a total of three kids in her class who wear masks and my older daughter, there are two kids including her, so one other kid that wears a mask,” said Heidi.
“I could home school them again, I did this last year but I need to get back to work and I was just really hoping that people would do the right thing and send their kids in masks,” said Heidi.
That just isn’t happening and Heidi’s eight-year-old is now showing symptoms as well. Her frustration is now aimed at Governor Doug Ducey and his efforts to ban mask mandates through the states recently passed budget.
My mask protects you, your mask protects me.

Barbara Canales, Nueces County Judge in #Texas defines a SURGE: In late June, COVID patients occupied 2% of hospital beds, over the next 3 weeks it rose 1% per week, then 1% every 2-3 days, then 1% every day. Now 13% of hospital capacity is occupied by COVID patients.
🚨During the prior surge in Texas, when 15% of hospital beds were occupied by COVID patients, local counties were able to implement mitigation strategies. But, Gov. Greg Abbott’s latest executive order no longer allows local governments to make those restrictions.
Four trauma service areas in Texas have now exceeded the 15% threshold that used to allow local counties to roll back business capacity. But, Gov. Greg Abbott’s latest executive order no longer allows local governments to make those restrictions. everythinglubbock.com/news/state-reg… Image

Officials say the new rule will apply beginning Sept. 30 — giving time for employers to prepare for implementation and for unvaccinated health care workers to become fully vaccinated.
A state law enacted in 1989 prohibits employers from independently mandating vaccines for certain limited categories of workers, including health care workers. But, a spokesperson from the governor’s office says the new rule does not conflict with the law.
