First there’s the Al-Taqwa teacher plus her partner - who plays football for Newport and works as an optometrist = five.

Six is a Maribyrnong man in his 20s.
He works in Derrimut. Very disappointing that I have to spell Maribyrnong again - gets us to six.

But wait! There’s more:
The teacher and her partner have given it to two relatives - in a different household.
Those two cases ⬆️ will be in tomorrow’s numbers but gives us a total of 8.

The health people think we could have as many as 10k primary close contacts in isolation by the time they work through everyone. Eeeeeep!

Lockdown. Do I even need to explain it?
Seven days from 8pm. 5km bubble.
Schools shut. State wide.

Extra fact:
This will be the third consecutive lockdown signed not by the CHO but by an Acting Chief Health Officer, as it’s just happened to fall on a day Bretty is off.

A man flew from NSW to VIC then to Tassie. On arrival he was taken to the quarantine bin butttt he decided to leave before his test came back and it was positive.

The footy has been called off in Tassie. 10k people were meant to watch Hawthown and Collingwood play. Sorry Tassie.

The flights to worry about are:
VA808 Sydney to Melbourne on August 2
VA1364 Melbourne to Launceston August 2
JQ746 Launceston to Sydney August 4
And the border is shut to Vic.
