9 Simple Tips for writing killer eCommerce product descriptions that convert like crazy!

(this can 2x your product sales overnight)👇

//THREAD//
Before I start,

Understand this:

You’re not selling an item or a course or service or any other product...

You’re selling a fantasy.

Sell what the product does, not what it is.

This is the foundation for writing product descriptions that sell your products like hotcakes.
Tip #1 – Use The 5 Ws (And 1 H) To Understand Your Audience

Your descriptions must explain:

>who
>what
>where
>when
>why
>how

Writing product descriptions that sell is about laying out the facts and showing customers why they need your products in their lives.
Tip #2 – Capture Your Customer’s Imagination

You need to capture your potential customer’s imagination.

Use the 5Ws + 1H to think about the type of brand your ideal customer wants to interact with.

Also,

Your product descriptions should be consistent with your brand voice.
Again,

You're selling a lifestyle!

Your product descriptions should reflect that lifestyle and your attitude. You don’t need to be wordy.

Write two or three sentences that set the scene and show visitors what life would be like with your product.
Tip #3 – Add Bullet Points

Especially in the modern world,

Readers skim.

So,

Create bullet points that highlight the best features or important info about your product + add them after your 2-3 sentence intro.
Tip #4 – Delve Deep Into The Details

Your initial description and bullet points should be short and sweet.

But after that?

You can provide more info.

This can include:

>a backstory
>special details
>technical details

Any valuable info that sells your product is fair game.
Tip #5 – Add Compelling Images

Storytelling isn’t just about words,

But visual elements also.

Here's how:

>Show the product from multiple angles
>Show images of ppl using + enjoying the product
>Diagrams of how the product is built

Use what makes sense for your product.
Tip #6 – Use Video

Videos can also help you create a product description that sells.

This can mean:

>Good tutorials
>Video reviews

Anything that humanizes the product + engages your customers.
Tip #7 – Consider User Reviews and Testimonials

Customers want to know what others think about your products.

You can:

>ask buyers to rate items on your page
>ask buyers to send in unveiling videos
>ask buyers for video testimonials

This adds social proof + helps conversions.
Tip #8 – Mix It Up As Needed

Rules are meant to be broken.

Sometimes the short paragraph + bullet points aren’t the way to go!

Think about your audience:

How are they most likely to be engaged?

Is there certain information they want upfront?

Put yourself in their shoes.
Tip #9 – Measure Your Success

Tweaking your product descriptions will lead to long-term success.

So,

Figure out if different formats work better than others.

You also want to see if different page layouts work better than others.

(hint: use A/B testing)
In conclusion:

You aren't selling a product,

You’re selling an attitude, a lifestyle...

You’re selling a fantasy.

Writing product descriptions that sell will take practice...

...but when you figure it out?

Your conversions will explode, and money will rain from the sky :)

In 2007, my wife & I quit our jobs to start an online store

Today?

We run two 7-figure online businesses

In my opinion, eComm is the best route to get started.

Here are the 4 most common eCommerce businesses you can start today (and make money from within a month)

#1 Dropshipping From Your Website

Dropshipping is a classic way to make money online.

Basically, you 'dropship' products from wholesalers and sell them at a higher margin on your own website.

You sell someone else's products by doing your own marketing.
Pros:
- no inventory
- minimal startup costs
- you don't do fulfillment

Cons:
- saturated
- fulfillment issues
- low profit margins (10-30%)

Dropshipping is perfect for learning the ins and outs of eCommerce without much risk.

1. DROPSHIPPING

You've heard of dropshipping.

Instead of manufacturing and shipping products yourself, you act as the 'middle man'

You do the marketing, connecting customers with the manufacturer.

There are pros and cons to this business model.
✅ Pros:
- no inventory
- no shipping for you
- low startup costs
- you only need a website + traffic
- mostly low-risk

Here's the hard truth:

You'll never make life-changing money working a 9-5.

I should know - my wife and I worked office jobs we hated.

That all changed when we dove headfirst into online business... and never looked back.

Hopefully this will help someone in that position

When I said you'll never make life changing money working an office job?

This is one of the few exceptions to that.

How to make $1,000 FAST...

...while also building a long-term business that could potentially change your life.

(Step-By-Step)

// THREAD //
Step 1: Write Down What You Are Good At

This 1st Step is important.

To get someone to pay you $$$,

You MUST be able to provide value.

So...
>How can you provide a benefit that someone is willing to pay for?
>What can you teach someone that will improve their life?
Most people don't believe they are an expert in anything...

But this is the completely wrong mindset!

You just need to know more than whoever you are teaching.

You don't need to be THE expert...

...you just need to be A expert.

Write down a complete list of ALL your skills.

13 Things You Didn't Know About ME

// THREAD //
1. In elementary school, I had a buck tooth that grew at a nearly 90 degree angle.

My friends used to give me tin cans to open with my teeth... until I got braces. :)
2. In 6th grade, I was a member of honors chorus (a singing group composed of about 30 kids).

The conductor told me to just mouth the words and pretend like I was singing... because I was that bad.

I’ve built two 7-figure online businesses

If I had to start a biz with no money, here’s how I’d do it

// THREAD //
1. Build an audience

Without paid advertising, building an audience organically is key

Use platforms
- Twitter
- Facebook
- YouTube
- Instagram
- TikTok

Post value + engaging content in one specific niche.

Interact with others + stay consistent.

Keep growing and don't stop.
You don't have to use social media.

Other options for growing an audience include

- blogs (post SEO articles consistently)
- podcasts (start your own or get on others)

This is a great way to grow an audience but can be slower than social media.
