The most important and the first step towards preparing for SBI PO will ALWAYS be about understanding the syllabus.
Knowing the syllabus will help you identify from should your journey begin and how arduous the road to success will be.
Set a realistic timetable
Set a timetable with realistic goals. Your timetable has to include all the subjects along with every chapter and sub-topic.
Setting a timetable will help you plan your way to your goals in a more organized and effective manner.
Root for squares and square roots!
Dedicate whatever additional time you have on hand to learn squares of numbers up to 30, square roots of numbers up to 25, and cube as well as cube roots up to 25.
This will help increase your speed to a great extent.
Make notes
Make separate books for different subjects. Your notes may include highlighted formulas, equations, important dates and events, tricks, shortcuts, flow charts, etc.
Making your own notes will help in better retention of concepts as you have authored it yourself.
Revision
Revision as an itinerary should be included in the timetable at least twice in the timetable.
Revising and revisiting what is already done will help in strengthening your basics and therefore help you prepare better for D-day.
Previous year papers
Once you are confident that you have completed the syllabus as the prescribed exam, attempt the previous year's papers.
It will also give you an idea about what to expect, how the paper pattern has changed over the years, etc.
Mock tests
Mock tests provide you a real exam experience thereby helping you focus on your strengths and weaknesses.
Testbook mock tests are well researched by expert SMEs and provide candidates not only with a gargantuan amount of questions but also detailed solutions.
Read, read and re-read
If you are reading a newspaper, at first start with reading anything that grips your interest like sports or the launch of the new Tesla.
You can later graduate to reading editorials and more technical reading. This will help you in improving grammar.
These are the basic steps to prepare for any competitive exams but are often neglected. Prepare yourself using these simple steps and let us know how you fared.
