Tsegay Tsadik was born at Alamata town, Southern Tigray. He was living in Addis Ababa & was studying his master's degree at Ethiopian Civil Service University. Previously, he was the administrator of Akaki Kaliti sub-city, Addis Ababa. @AnnLinde

Last week, the Ethiopian Federal Police abducted him from Saris [in Addis Ababa] & took him to an unknown location. His loved ones had not known his whereabouts until they saw his face on national TV a couple of days ago. @USAmbUN@SFRCdems@SenatorMenendez@SweinEthiopia
4/
The Ethiopian government coerced him to appear in front of a camera & tell the world that he is a prisoner of war. There are 10s of 1000s of #Tigrayans who faced the same exact fate of Tsegay Tsadik, i.e., they got abducted from their homes & now are being considered as PoWs.

Amanuel Abrha, military rank of major, had been serving Ethiopia very proudly until he got abducted by the Ethiopian govt's agents few weeks ago from his home in Addis Ababa. He was the vice CEO of the Ethiopian Power Engineering Industry.
I am enraged by the Ethiopian government for three reasons: 1) Abducting a major who was serving his country
selflessly & proudly. 2) Throwing him into a concentration camp. 3) Engineering a nasty drama that he is a prisoner of
war. @USEmbassyAddis@EUinEthiopia

Ermias Birhane was born & raised at Kebelle 03, Alamata town, Southern Tigray. He was living at Kasanchis, Addis Ababa, until he got abducted by the Ethiopian regime from his home weeks ago.
It was during a night that the regime's agents broke into his house and took him to an unknown location. His loved ones kept on visiting police stations over police stations only to find out that he was not available inside the police stations in Addis Ababa.
9/
A couple of days ago, he was forced to appear on a national TV and was speaking as if he were a prisoner of war who was captured at a battlefront. It is so pathetic & sickening to see the Ethiopian government lowering itself to such a bottomless bottom. @Assita_Kanko@hrw

The stories of 10s of 1000s of #Tigrayans, who are suffering inside several concentration camps throughout Ethiopia, is very similar - they were abducted from their residences, workplaces, or as they were travelling to Tigray via Afar.
Beyene Tesfay was a resident of Addis Ababa. About seven weeks ago, the Ethiopian govt's agents detained him from his workplace. It was Friday. His loved ones went to the police station and asked for his release.
12/
But, they were told to bring money to get him freed.
His family kept paying money to the police several times hoping that he would be freed. Unfortunately, he was transferred to a concentration camp at Awash Arba.
13/
When, his family went to the police station, they were told that he was freed as a result of the payment. But, it was a mockery as they knew their Beyene was not released.
14/
Consequently, they did not know his whereabouts until they saw him on a national TV on August 09 under a caption, "Regrets of the terrorist TPLF's captured fighters (PoW)".
Remember the police have taken a huge chunk of money from his family under the pretext that he would be released if the necessary payment is made. The tragic side of this story is that ...
... Beyene used to work at a car parking place just in front of a police station at Arat Kilo [in Addis Ababa] and it was the very same policemen who know him very well and were his friends that detained him and were taking money from his family. @wdavison10@mukeshkapila

Haftom Te'ame was born & raised in Mekelle, Tigray. He was living at Teklehaymanot, Addis Ababa. He was abducted from his home by federal govt agents to an unknown location weeks ago. @jbgallopin@FissehaTekle@HelenClarkNZ@helenhayes_
18/
Later, his family found out that he was detained at a police station called Amstegna in Addis Ababa. However, on August 09, he was spotted on a national TV under the caption, "The regrets of the terrorist TPLF's captured fighters". @AFPAfrica@AP_Africa@ReutersAfrica
19/
He was transferred from a police station in Addis Ababa to a concentration camp at Awash Arba & is now being coerced to stand in front of a camera & express his regret as if he were a prisoner of war.
20/ Mery BIB was born at Shire, Tigray. He was living in Addis Ababa. Two months ago, he was abducted from the streets of the city by government agents. But, he was spotted on a national TV on August 09 when 100s of #Tigrayans were shown as prisoners of war. @DStillhartICRC@hrw
Afewerki was abducted from his home in Addis on the night of July 22 by federal govt agents. It's a surprise for his loved ones to see him being presented on national TV as he were a prisoner of war. @hrw
#Tigrayan residents of Debrebirhan are being abducted from their homes & taken to concentration camps. Debrebirhan Times (a @telegram page) is tarnishing #Tigrayans & instigating attack against them. @amnesty@ICRC@hrw
Head of Foreign Affairs of SAWET political party, Hailu Kebede, was taken to a police station located at Gerji [in Addis Ababa] today midday Axumite Time.
This #Tigrayan was repatriated from Saudi🇸🇦 to #ETH🇪🇹 a month ago. @abumahbub81 said, "Once he arrived at Addis Ababa, he told me he could not travel to #Tigray. But now, he is being considered as a POW." @amnesty@hrw

Hassen Jibril & his friend were abducted by Ethiopian govt's agents from a cafeteria in Addis Ababa a month ago. On August 09, he was seen on a national TV when he was paraded as if he were a prisoner of war.@amnesty@hrw
A heart-wrenching testimony from a #Tigrayan resident of Addis Ababa city:
Translated into English as follows:
<<
Let my name remain anonymous for the sake of my safety. I'm writing to you about ...
2/n ..the atrocity that has been committed on us. So, please disseminate this to all concerned bodies.
They abducted us 20 days ago together with my love as we were walking from Gurd Shola [in Addis Ababa] to our home [in Addis Ababa] at 8:30 pm during the night. @LaetitiaBader
3/n First, they asked both of us to show them our ID cards. Both my love & I gave them our ID cards. Then, they said, "you have an ID card of #Tigray and this is perfectly what we are hunting after." They told me to get into a police vehicle they had. I challenged them why? @hrw
Genet Birhanu, a selfless #Tigrayan humanitarian activist & CEO of Tinsae Tigray Humanitarian Organisation, was detained half an hour ago. This is for the 2nd time Abiy Ahmed's agents are detaining Genet within few months.
2/
Half an hour ago, the police arrived at Genet's office. They found her helping #Tigrayan university students whom @AbiyAhmedAli abandoned without anyone giving them food & shelter.
#Tigrayan refugees, who returned on their own via boats or repatriated by Saudi Arabia sponsored flights to Ethiopia, are being abducted & #massacred by @AbiyAhmedAli's forces in the Afar regional state.
2/ Ethiopian government's media broadcasted as if the government of Tigray recruited #ChildSoldiers and sent them to battlefields. ETV claimed that 👇bodies are of the #Tigrayan#ChildSoldiers in Afar region. But they're abducted & #massacred by the Ethiopian troops.
3/ The Ethiopian Press Agency posted on its @Facebook the photos of some of the #Tigrayan youths whom @AbiyAhmedAli's regime claims them to be #ChildSoldiers. But, these youths returned from Saudi Arabia a week or two ago & the Ethiopian troops abducted & #massacred them in Afar.
1/ Let it be clear to the whole world, I have credible information that it was the #Eritrean troops [in civilian clothes] who abducted #Welday & #Marta at Shire two days ago.
2/ The lady was interrogated, photos & videos in her phone investigated thoroughly, & brought to her home by the troops yesterday night at 8 pm Tigrayan Time. They warned her that she MUST stay at home for 10 days. If she violates this restriction, reprisals will follow.
3/ They told her, "We will follow your situation. If we come to know that you disrespect our word and you fail to stay at your home for 10 days, the consequences will be severe." They have taken the contact numbers of everyone of her household.
