In 1977, we sent two records into interstellar space. The records contain the story of humans, such that any intercepting alien race can begin to understand us.

The records will tell the aliens how we count, how we describe the physical world, how we see both inside an atom and across a solar system. 
The records will show aliens how we live and how we reproduce.
The images on the records will describe our lives, our community, our technology.
The records contains our sounds, of rain and thunder, of birds and elephants, of trains and planes and automobiles.
Of kisses.

Can’t help but think those aliens will be mighty disappointed when they pay us a visit.
And I’m now laughing as I imagine Daddy alien shouting at Children aliens to stay away from the needle…
