Senior Senate staffers were working with Pentagon officials Sunday night to try to help Afghan pilots who had fled the country and landed in Uzbekistan, where US officials feared they could be turned over to the Taliban, a Senate source tells CNN.
2/ Senate staffers were trying to reach State Department officials, who are already overwhelmed with the deteriorating situation.

With the Taliban taking control of the country, at least a dozen Afghan pilots have fled the country on aircraft, the source said.
3/ Border countries, grappling with the Taliban takeover, are deciding how to deal with Afghans fleeing into their countries.

CNN obtained documentation showing identification of the pilots, whom the US is seeking to protect.
4/ CNN has reached out to the State Department and Pentagon for more information.

On this day in 2007, B Troop, 1-91 Cavalry, 173rd Airborne, went to meet with the elders of the village Saret Koleh in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan. They were led by Captain Tom Bostick and his lieutenants. 1/
1LT Dave Roller and his platoon conducted overwatch of the village; here was the view earlier that day. 2/
3/ B troop was ambushed. Bostick was killed.

The PA Supreme Court freed Cosby because they found that the commonwealth of PA had pledged to not prosecute him, thus removing his 5th amendment right to refuse to testify, thus taking away immunity from being deposed in the civil case.

He was NOT found innocent. ... 1/
