Can we ask some different questions? #NSWpol

Here’s some suggestions:

1) Is any analysis being done about those who are breaching orders to see if other measures would have prevented these breaches? (extra financial support, clearer communication due to language issues, etc?)
2) What’s being done to address overcrowding in communities as a result of housing affordability crisis - given most spread is in larger family grouping living in same home?
3) What’s the data on covid cases versus breaches? Is it the people who are breaching the orders causing the infections or are infections happening even though people are following the orders?
4) Have you been advocating to the federal govt to make childcare free - or do you have plans to do this - to take financial pressure off those who aren’t sending their kids to daycare because they are able to keep them at home?
5) What’s being done in response to increased demand for handouts of food and essentials given those who were already living below the poverty line aren’t able to access disaster payments?
6) Why haven’t you mentioned you are now live translating the press conference in to multiple languages - so people watching actually know and can tune in to these via SBS?
7) What’s being done to ensure those who don’t have access to free internet - and technology - through libraries and community centres because they are closed - are able to book in for a vaccine and can access info that is shared almost completely online?
8) How much money has been raised by fines from breaches? What’s being done to ensure the additional financial stress caused by this fine on individuals doesn’t cause serious and significant impacts on them and their families?
9) What are the biggest risks to people living in unsafe home environments of harsh lockdowns and what is being done to protect and support them?
10) What communication is being done to international students, visa holders to ensure they know they are eligible for vaccinations and disaster payments?
11) Do you support private pharmaceutical companies and private testing companies profiting from this pandemic? Whether it be vaccines or pay-per-test from the public purse? And what are you doing to address this?
12) Appreciate there aren’t enough vaccines at present, but what is your plan for rolling out vaccines to children once they become available?
That’s it for now… might keep the thread going each day at 11! Thanks to @axmcc for writing this piece that inspired this thread:
Welcome back - it’s 11am and so time for a few #nswpol suggested questions…

13) You do a call out of suburbs of concern, but what does that mean in terms of your response? Just more police in the area? Or better resourcing for local community communications and support?
14) You are using % targets on population vaccinated, but there’s a gap in this calculation, or is there? Are you including children - those under 18 in your target percentages? If not, why not?
15) What’s the current average wait time for people in different LGAs using the vaccine eligibility site to get a vaccination booking? Is this being tracked and is additional capacity being put in locations where it’s too long?
16) What government support is being provided to address food insecurity across the state? Given those already living below the poverty line (because they can’t work - or were unemployed) are not able to access disaster payments? #NSWpol

All those living in Australia horrified by police murdering black people in the US - be horrified but also be horrified about the fact that more than 400 Aboriginal and Torres straight islander people have died in custody since the 1991 Royal Commission in to deaths in custody...
The @GuardianAus and @Jumbunna_Inst have a confronting, heart breaking, rage-making and powerful database listing deaths in custody of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people in this country theguardian.com/australia-news…
So yes. Say the name of #GeorgeFloyd but also say the names of Nathan Reynolds, Patrick Fisher, Rebecca Maher, David Dungay, Mark Edward Mason... just some of those from NSW on this unacceptable list of aboriginal and torres strait islander deaths in custody...
