Was he fearful his country might have fallen into chaos? War? This sounds like Neville Chamberlain talking about England being bombed by the Germans.

Seriously, he didn't want to come back from his vacation retreat earlier because he was “still hopeful for his country?”

Does he think the reports of the Taliban taking over are about events in America? Does he see video of Kabul and think it's Cleveland?

Or is he so addlepated that he's not even being told anything other that to go out every once in a while and read a quick script on how we're winning the war, production is up, and rations are doubled?

We already know he still hasn't talked with any other heads of states about any of this. He's been in hiding for essentially weeks now. Oh, he comes out every once in a while, stumbles through a few lines on a teleprompter, and goes back into hibernation.

How long are they going to keep this up? We already know if they 25th Amendment his ass, they're stuck with a highly unpopular, inept, and unlikable President Harris, with no chance of appointing a VP because the Senate will then be deadlocked at 50/50.

Or are they just going to keep riding him like a rented mule and hope he lasts until the next general election? Hope he doesn't fade out completely before then? Hope the jumpstart juice has enough jump in it to carry him across the finish line?

If Afghanistan is any indication, they can't have much of a contingency plan for this either. So far it seems to be just wing it as they go along, stay in hiding as long as the press will cover for them, and divert everyone's attention to Covid, Covid, Covid.

That can't work much longer, even with the press in their back pockets, dressed in choker collars and muzzles.

To say nothing of the fact that's no way to run a nation.
