The court also suo motu includes a host of political parties including DMK, AIADMK, Congress, BJP, PMK, CPI, CPI(M), MDMK, VCK & Muslim League as respondents and asks them to reply as to why court should not prohibit reduction of MP seats, after 2026, based on census.
Also wants to know why the 41 MP seats should not be restored for Tamil Nadu. Asks whether it is right for States, which had failed to successfully implement population control programmes, to be befitted with more number of political representatives in the Parliament.
