It is Day 7 of the #hypefurychallenge already.

Here's a quick thread on my experience. There may be some tips in there 👀

⬇️
Time difference - I'm ahead in time, & living in the future so I had more time for tasks + checking the hashtag and engaging.

Planning ahead - After finishing with my Bio, I was brainstorming what story to tell and I came up with ideas for a bunch of threads.
I wrote 3 threads in 2 hours that morning. I was confused about which one to post.

Then I saw @nathanarodgers' humongous goldmine of a thread and decided to merge all 3 of my threads, discard the bullshit & do one big thread. I edited out A LOT & ended up with 22 tweets in it.
Editing - That's a skill I gained that nobody could have taught me.

Community - Telegram group chat was enlightening af. Faith in humanity restored.

Community is everything. I knew this in theory but I experienced it here for the very first time.

Thank you, everyone!🥺🙏
Followers - They are friends, not a wall to bounce tweets off of.

@nivdatta88 said "I prefer being friends." It hit me so hard, it has been carved inside my skull now. I'm forever grateful for that realisation so early on.

🏆I started with 23 follower friends, now I have 65.
@HeyArunima is a superhero. Enough said.

We are handle buddies so that's some silly kind of validation I didn't know I could get🤣

But seriously, she ran the show so smoothly, let's applaud her for a second.
The prizes - I've never felt so much motivation condensed in one week. I've thrived in the competitive air.

🏆It helped that my story for Day 2 got featured in the 5 most compelling stories. That's HUGE for a beginner.
Speaking of threads, I noticed that participants were adding the hashtag in the last tweet.

I always put it in my Hook. Scrolling down the hashtag page all I saw were last tweets and because I'm nice, I went and read the threads, but...

Hashtag in the Hook. Come on.
Epiphany - I stayed up until 4 am to tame my monster thread into a good boy. I had a very important life-changing thing in the morning but I clearly cared about the thread more.

I realised that writing (& showing it to the world) is my calling.

I didn't sleep at all after that.
Most challenging - DMs. Also the thing I got cheered for the most.

Now I think, I can make a thread about it? A swipe file? Who's stopping me?

ME? I have no power over the collective drive of this community. I'm making it so deal with it.

I mean, follow me so you can see it😂
With this thread, Day 7 is done.

What's next?

Here is the challenge I'm taking.

🎯 Re-do Bio in a month
🎯 3 tweets everyday
🎯 1 thread per week
🎯 Engage every single day
🎯 DM 1 new follower + 1 new person I'm following per week

Who's with me?
Some people I had the good fortune of meeting.

@AtulACleaver -this kid crushes content management on Notion
@nathanarodgers -course creators hate him, he gives email secrets out for free
@LeaderOfToday -hates time difference, very helpful
@heyibrah - mentioning for reach😂
@DevLinguistic -called me "DM Queen in the making"
@jwginn -I'd follow anyone he asks me to follow
@earlryan -trust me
@nivdatta88 -supermom, crushing it on Twitter
@hypefury -the best Twitter growth tool out there

Thank you for creating #hypefurychallenge 🙌

No-Bullsh!t advice on how to write DMs for Twitter newbies

(and older accounts in case you're doing it wrong 👀)

📸 Screenshots from my own inbox ⬇
❌ "Hi thanks for following me."
And then nothing.

No interaction, no exchange, nothing to offer, not even a question.

Why did you bother to DM me then?

✅ DM with a purpose.

Examples of purpose:
1. Introduce yourself

→ mention what you tweet about
→ say you're glad they found your profile interesting

💡 Don't introduce yourself to a NEW follower, say this to someone who has interacted with your tweets

At age 19, I'd already had a series of massive failures.

22 academic failures, to be exact.

Here is my STORY on how failure made me a depressed teenager first, and a fearless young adult next.

#hypefurychallenge 👇
Growing up, I was an overachiever. I went for the toughest, most glorious field in mathematics– Actuarial Science.

Coming from a tiny town, I was spending big bucks and living by myself in Bombay.

Hustling, learning, growing.

When you are 17, you think nothing can go wrong.
Guess what? Everything went wrong.

I made hasty academic decisions, took too much on my plate, and failed 22 exams in 3 years.

The reason 22 is a lot– these were very crucial qualifying exams I NEEDED to have in the bag, APART from graduating college.

The result?

Expanding on a powerful idea:

3 ways to repurpose your own content–

A Thread
This came up in a conversation with Arthur (@DevLinguistic) about a line in his thread on building habits that was too good to be hiding inside a thread.

Here's what to do when you find that gem.
1. Cover a wider and more general scope

- Break down and parse your original content to get a broader view.
- "How to write consistently" is specific.
- Break it down into two broader topics
- How to write consistently = How to write + How to be consistent.

Is it possible to reset your biological clock?

Yes, it is possible, and it is easy.

Here are THREE actionable steps you can take right now. 👇
1. Plan your exposure to light.

Your brain blocks the release of Melatonin, the sleep hormone, when you're exposed to light.

❌Screens
❌Bright Lights
❌Naps in daytime

✅Dark bedroom
✅Sleeping eye-mask
✅Curtains open
✅Get sunlight in the day

Keyword: PLAN
2. Make conscious efforts to wind down

Cortisol– the stress hormone can increase heart rate and make you feel awake.

❌Caffeine in the evening
❌Exercise close to bedtime
❌Loud noises
❌Notifications (stimulation) close to bedtime

✅Yoga, Stretch
✅Journal
✅Deep Breathing

The role of your Bio in converting Visitors to Followers, or better yet, to FRIENDS.

A THREAD
I came to Twitter to write more, but with #hypefurychallenge, I've learned a LOT about tweaking my profile for growth (and I've grown so much). Here I am writing about Twitter growth.🤷🏻‍♀️

There are a few ways Visitors land on your profile. ⬇⬇ Image
1️⃣ Via Tweet

I see your tweet, it resonates with me so much that I'm curious about you.

On your profile, your banner will be the first thing I see. It should pop off the screen and fall into my eye. Figuratively, of course.

Here's the banner that inspired this whole thread. Image
