(1) Anthony Blinken

The modern U.S. State Dept is an independent, bureaucratic, and massive foreign policy institution that does not accept any oversight.

(2) The DoS are able to accomplish their independent position by partnering with intelligence agencies. The Dept of State use the U.S. Intelligence Branch as a weapon against any individual or entity who would attempt oversight.

(3) When a Secretary of State is appointed to the role as head of the agency, the arbitrary nature of the institution around them is accepted.

(4) In the modern political dynamic, the Secretary of State position is customarily given to a key political figure by the President as a payback or compensation for support.

(5) The SoS then uses their position for leisure, personal graft, a life of indulgence and a position to repay the interests of their tribe.

(6) During any Dem term in office; and in addition to funding the family of the POTUS who appointed them; as long as the SoS appropriately & adequately funds the members, families & friends of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, they are perceived to be doing their job.

(7) The SoS keeps that institutional mechanism working, and in return the unilateral operations of the department are supported.

In 2017 Trump didn't know this insider role was important to the Senate.

(8) Former Senator John McCain did not like Anthony Blinken because the Arizona senator feared Blinken would tilt the DoS coffers in favor of the Clinton syndicate.

(9) Cindy McCain was not about to take a position in line at Tiffany’s behind Chelsea; this became an issue between the two dynasties. Mitch McConnell replaced McCain with Mitt Romney

(10) Foreign countries know how the nature of the SoS position has evolved, and they no longer respond to the U.S. secretary of state with any level of respect.

(11) After Blinken used the catch-phrase a “rules based international order”, the Chinese shot back with a big truth: “the United States does not talk for the world, only for the United States government.” The U.S. team was dead silent & without retort.

(12) From the perspective of foreign governments, the Secretary of State is, for all intents and purposes, irrelevant. Any conflict between their interests and the U.S. state department is like getting a strongly worded letter from Lindsey Graham.

(13) And therein lies the problem when a major international crisis erupts & the SoS is in the global spotlight.
