Pais- 750 FIRs stand registered in case of the Delhi Riots. i am not named in a single FIR and arrested in 1.
These FIR have been unnecessarily filed against me and it is targeted against persons important to the protest.
Pais- 6th March FIR was framed so that you could get statements to frame people. They are all cooked up statements. The chargesheet is complete fabrication.
Pais- The basis of the FIR was “chakka Jam” and “bhadkau Bhashan” at different places.
Pais points out how FIRs were filed under different provisions of law.
Pais- The chargesheet will not stand the test. “Laughable” statements have been made. It is only to keep these people in jail. I submit none of the people in FIR 59 should be held in custody.
Pais- How is the act preventive when you impose sections after I am arrested. Where is it preventing unlawful activities. The distress of judiciary are POTA, UAPA because the hands of judiciary are tied in granting bail to the accused.
Pais shares a comparative chart of bail provisions under various special legislations.
Contd...
Pais- You (your lordship) have been given the solemn duty of perusing the case diary and the burden is on the prosecution to prove that there is a case against me.
Pais- These are journalists who see video on YouTube and do not go the event and are unable to provide the raw footage.
The video was picked up from a tweet by a member of BJP.
Pais- If you go back to the FIR it says I gave “bhadkau bhashan” at different places. This is FIR 59. Based on this you now cook stories.
If you go back to 6th march you have a video footage that is broadcasted from a tweet. This is the death of journalism.
Pais- They have gone to the extent of fabricating statements that are shocking.
You have a truncated version of video from YouTube which is copied from a tweet.
Pais- The reason that the entire speech was played was because to show that the contents are not seditious but opposed to the introduction of the new law.
Pais- They tell you that I was aware that Donald Trump was arriving when the MEA also did not know the dates...
The witnesses statement changes. It is shocking they will lie in any manner.
Pais-There was a theory on February 22, that a conspiracy for riot was made when Donald Trump was to arrive in India.
On 21st May 2020, the witness does not speak of the meeting at all. Admittedly he was an employee of Mr Tahir Hussain. #Umarkhalid#UAPA#Delhiriots
Pais-So how did you file the 22nd June chargesheet of riot. So they file a supplementary chargesheet where the witness speaks about the meeting.
Pais-on the 6th march you had nothing and then you make statements as and when you want to arraign people. This entire FIR is a cooked up. Let all the 750 people names in the FIR be investigated under IPC.
Delhi High Court denies bail to two accused persons in #DelhiRiots case of violence against the @DelhiPolice in which HC Ratan Lal lost his life.
Noting that the footage of the two accused persons at the "Scene of Crime is quite egregious," the court said it was "sufficient to keep the Petitioner(s) in custody."
Comparing the cases to those of other accused who were given bail in the matter, the court said the Petitioners "did not satisfy the ingredients to claim bail on ground of parity with the other co-accused...as none of those co-accused...were caught in an overt act..."
