#Spencer, a new biographical drama about Princess Diana, just dropped this incredible new poster showing off Kirsten Stewart in the lead role π
The movie takes place across the course of three days, and follows Diana, Prince Charles and the rest of the Royal family as they spend Christmas at Sandringham Estate in December 1991 π #Spencer
During production Kristen Stewart has spoken extensively about taking on the role of Diana - saying "#Spencer is a dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life"
"It is a physical assertion of the sum of her parts, which starts with her given name; Spencer. It is a harrowing effort for her to return to herself, as Diana strives to hold onto what the name #Spencer means to her."
"I remember imagery from the funeral as a really little kid," she said. "I remember being really viscerally affected by that.β
"I think that there is like, this sort of unbridled, open, intimate exchange that she's had with the public that was so striking for people that were like, used to a sort of different face of the royal family. That wasn't something I grew up with."
Harry Potter's Timothy Spall, Paddington's Sally Hawkins and Mission: Impossible's Sean Harris also star, while Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight has written the screenplay π«
Although it doesnβt have a UK release date yet, #Spencer is set to arrive in US cinemas on Friday, November 5 π
