Because our PH director, @CDCDirector, is trying to say the outbreaks were because the schools weren't following the CDC's recommendations.

Why weren't they? Because they didn't have to.

Just like the Demasking of America on May 13, she is pushing a "choice" model of

public health. A libertarian model.

"Here are best practices - we recommend you follow them!"

But school districts are like people on following recommendations. Very much like herding cats.

Mandates. They should have tied DOE funding to very specific requirements

for air filters. Not air filters that use a bushel of ions causing unknown amounts of off-gassing from materials in classrooms, and doing god knows what to your endothelial cells in your lungs.

Not suggest masks - mandate masks. Again, tied to DOE funding.

The masks? N100

elastomeric masks provided by the Defense Production Act.

We can mandate school uniforms. So, make masks part of the school uniform.
