2. Jaggi is very clever in the way he tries to discredit science. Models of the atom are not mere guesses as he makes it sound. They are carefully considered and proposed based on the evidence discovered so far. Let’s look at what he says and carefully pick everything apart.

3. First he says that proton, neutron and electron are embedded in an atom and this is the model that was first taught to us. I don't know what school Jaggi studied in, but someone should let them know that such a model does not exist.

4. Because the atom would become physically unstable if unmoving protons and electrons are just embedded in it. Because they hold opposite charges that attract each other and hence, can’t remain embedded. The atom would collapse.

5. I’m assuming he’s talking about the JJ Thomson model of the atom - where electrons are embedded in a cloud of positive charge -

6. The cloud of positive charge is there because we know from daily life that things are neutral. And so atoms have to be neutral. Or else everything in the world would rip apart to shreds because of all the electric forces. But then what about the neutrons and protons?

7. This model does not have protons and neutrons because they weren’t even discovered back then in 1904. It was only in 1917 that Rutherford discovered protons and in 1932 that Chadwick discovered Neutrons.

8. Also I remember that this model was never taught to us as legit. It was always taught to us as an early model when we didn’t have a lot of evidence and soon changed after Rutherford performed his Gold Foil experiment two paragraphs later on the same page of the textbook.

9. Oh I forgot. Jaggi no like textbooks.

10. He then confidently talks about what is presumably the Bohr Model of the atom where the electrons are revolving around protons and neutrons in the centre. Note that even now we didn’t know of the existence of protons and neutrons.

11.All we knew was that the atom was mostly empty space with almost all its mass concentrated in a central positive charge and this was thanks to Rutherford's famous Gold Foil experiment(not what that led to discovering proton).The model at this point was what Bohr came up with

12. Note that here the electrons are going around the nucleus so that the electrostatic force of attraction serves as the centripetal force for circular motion.

Kind of like how the moon goes around the earth because of gravity.

This means that the atom wouldn't just collapse.

13. Even this model was replaced as we found out more. Currently the quantum mechanical model of the atom is the accepted one. But Jaggi or any of his advisors wouldn’t know about any of that, if this is the best they could come up with.

14. There’s a bigger message in all this that needs to be said. Pseudoscience peddlers like him first need to discredit science to sell all his pseudoscience. If his followers are to buy them, they must first lose their trust in science.

15. When they hear scientific criticisms, he wants them to think, “why should I even listen to you?”. Please don’t fall for this kind of non-sense. RT this thread if you wanna actively fight against these pseudoscience peddlers. Let’s make more people aware.
