Almost all foreign members of ISIL-K and Al-Qaida have entered Afghanistan via Pakistan. Their leaders & that of the Taliban have been living (some dying/killed) in Pakistan. UN report undocs.org/S/2021/486 establishes the symbiotic ties between ISIL-K, Taliban & Al-Qaida. 1/7
According to the report the ISIL-K core group consists mainly of Afg & Pakistani nationals and a significant part of the leadership of Al-Qaida resides in the Pakistan & Afg border region. 2/7
According to @P_Musharraf “Pakistan gave birth to the Taliban to counter Indian action against it.” @ImranKhanPTI believes the Taliban have "broken the shackles of slavery." @SMQureshiPTI & @YusufMoeed are currently busy lobbying the world to engage with the Taliban. 3/7
The Taliban takeover of Kabul has already invited the radical/extremist/terrorist groups in the region to move into Afghanistan. The creeping aggression of Pakistan will soon turn Afghanistan into a breeding ground of terror, jeopardizing international peace and security. 4/7
Under UN Charter, #UNSC is obliged to deal with it in order to restore peace & security in Afghanistan. No doubt, Pakistan’s strategic ally, China, may be reluctant to cooperate within the Council, in which case a resolution could be presented to the UN General Assembly. 5/7
Only a policy of pressure/sanction and condition-based rapprochement with Pakistan can bring real positive change in Afghanistan and maintain international peace and security. 6/7
